*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Does the Desire have multiple sound profiles? I use All Alerts Off at work and Phone Calls Only when ZZZ on my BB and find it very useful.

Can you turn vibrate off when typing?

Can you transfer Bookmarks from IE, FF, Chrome or Opera off the PC to the Desire?

Can you import contacts via .csv file off SDHC?

How often do emails sync with Gmail and Hotmail?

Yes it does, can also set it up to change by location. (third party app required)

Yes

Not sure, but would imagine so.

Not sure.

This can be changed, to auto or every 15mins an hour etc.

email sync is instant as it's push email, google social services (picassa/facebook etc too) sync can be min of every hour.

I'm recording a hd Desire demo showing pretty much everything being done from google maps nav to copilot satnav to browsing and so on inc multitouch so stay tuned!

I don't get this, why do you need to use the internet on your phone at home?

Do you not have a pc?

Sure I do but if my laptop isnt on which its not in a morning before I go to work, I can just fire up the desire and check my email before windows 7 has even booted.

Indeed. I've sadly become quite attached to the phone. The alarm goes off first thing and I can roll over, check my emails, news headlines and of course the forums before I've even thrown off the duvet covers.

Phone arrived this morning at 0630 and also came with a free 16GB microSDHC card so anyone that purchased via the vstore before the 27th April at 1700 "should" also get one for the delays!!!

I know this has been asked many times but its to early to go back through the thread!

I have gone through all the sync settings I can find on the Desire but when I go to compose a text message its showing all my facebook contacts which is very annoying!

I also have the dreaded pink tink on the whole screen when it goes into standby or when the brightness isn't on auto or at 0% but as soon as I move it to 1% its fine though so not sure what to do.

Apart from that its working fine.

received my desire yesterday from MobilePhonesDirect, cannot fault their service! Ordered Wednesday at 2am, delivered thursday 8.40am. Considering most places are out of stock, it's a massively good return!

Phone is completely unbranded too, no web n walk on the browser etc (t-mobile)

Phone is simply amazing, I wasn't sure it was going to be that much different from my iPhone 3G, but it is just so damn quick at everything, and the google nav is simply brilliant especialyl when considering it's not storing the data locally.

Checked mine against my dad's for pinking when i was round at his last night, mine is perfect, his is far from! He hadn't even noticed lol.

£25 a month, free handset, 18 month contract, 300 minutes, 300 texts, unlimited (1gb) data, next day delivery. Can't complain.

Tom.

Ok I figured it out, I had to actually remove the Facebook global sync account completely and add it again without checking sync contacts and now everythings fine.

How much did you get for your magic?

£90 from Cashinmyfone.com

The reason why I didn't both to sell it on ebay was that I have replaced the screen after I dropped it. It had some scratches on the case and obviously the warranty was void after opening it up.

Speed loading apps initially isn't that much quicker but speed within them is much better - especially the browser which is much better.

I have to say apps launch time is much quicker than my Magic. Everything is so quick. I even found I can do stuff while apps are being downloaded and installed from the Market. This would have been a no no on my Magic as everything started to grind to a halt.

Not had any slow down in normal use. You really need to push it before it shows any sign of struggling.

Thanks mate I just signed up for the exact same deal, didnt enter my PAC code though but have requested it from O2. How do I deal with that when I recieve the phone?

Wonder if it will arrive tomorrow :)

With Vodafone you have 7 days to return it or swap it if you don't like it. I've done this before with the Nokia 5800 which turned out to be a very badly designed phone.

You've probably covered this already but I'm too lazy to scroll back through the thread, did you root your desire yet? If so, any problems etc?

The wait is killing me! Haven't been this excited over recieving a package in a long time haha! Waiting for it to charge is going to be torture.

Yes - see settings -> sound and display

Can you turn vibrate off when typing?

Yes - see settings -> language and keyboard

Can you transfer Bookmarks from IE, FF, Chrome or Opera off the PC to the Desire?

Yes - lots of apps on the market do this. What i've done though is use Chrome bookmark synch then have my home page as the folder in Google Docs that has all my bookmarks in.

Can you import contacts via .csv file off SDHC?

Not sure if you can from the phone but in Google Mail you can do this easily.

How often do emails sync with Gmail and Hotmail?

Gmail is near instant. Not sure about Hotmail, don't use it, sorry.
