I'm sure they will come down in the price once the Nvidia-only people have had their fill. Look at the GTX 260. Launch 192 core was £300. About 9 months later I bought the 216 core version for £140 from here. Probably won't take as long this time round due to the cards being so late anyway.

I don't think the 480 pricing will budge at all without a big price cut from ATI, and i don't see that happening in the next few months.

That was solely due to ATi releasing the 4870 and 4850 cards at cheap money.

Once the 4870 was launched at £170 which could beat the gtx 260, Nvidia had no choice but to slash the price of the gtx 260.

So until the 5870 drops substantially in price, no reason for Nvidia to drop either.

I reckon it might be until the 6 series comes out before we see any Fermi price drops.

Fermi pricing is going nowhere unless they can make more than 50 a week, it's ridiculous the supply at the moment and that's why the price is extortionate.

I've decided to wait until after the summer.....hopefully stocks will have stablised and they will have worked out any problems.

ps. title of this thread reminds me of fam guy bin laden @ the airport
