Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I agree his target combo is awesome!

Just Started on Guys Trials managed to get up to the 19th one but i ended up falling into my own world at that point I was to tired, I will vouch for you on this though his target combo is just exceptional. Maining Adon ATM hopefully will get onto guy sooner or later :P

I've noticed doing the trial's really help. I've almost done Adons, but it seems some can't be done without a stick. On PS3 Pad it kills your thumb lol.

Loving Adon atm, excellent character. His moves are limited but when the go into combos, lethal.

I think Balrog is the easiest to learn, nearly all his moves are safe and he has a very easy ultra setup. :D

He has less safe moves than most characters.

With Ryu, bison, cody etc you can blindly do a combo string with no worries but with rog everything has to be hit confirmed.

That gets my vote :)

There are loads of PS3 players atm, everytime I sign on there are least 2 ppl on my list playing. Plus if I was on 360 playing you, kreeeee or margaret I would get spanked and be forced to used Ryu to stand any chance. On the PS3 I am using Dudley and loving playing with him AND doing quite well with him.:p

I am still figuring out how to play some of the new chars and how to counter certain moves and ultras. I played a Blanka player who set off his new Ultra which didn't touch me so I quickly let off mine, and it went right through him! :o

I will eventually get a 360 though. ;)

I don't see why you'd necessarily get 'spanked' if the other person was learning a new char too.
I started off with Dudley, but i'm not able to apply pressure well with him. If i try crouching jabs followed by an overhead, it usualy gets beaten by ppl mashing out LP/LK/throw. Any pressuring tips for Dudley appreciated!

Also learned a bit of Ibuki yesterday, and she seems fun so far. Had a few fights using her and did surprisingly well.

So far, i can survive with Ibuki, Dudley, DeeJay (easy to pick up) and Juri.

ggs to those who i played today. I'm really beginning to like Guy, am i right in assuming he's likely a high tierd character? He's just so utterly easy to set up links and combos with in comparison to Abel, unfortunately i don't know priorities/properties of moves as well as i do with Abel yet so i'm still pretty rubbish... but then i'm rubbish with Abel so i guess nothings new.

I tried playing a randomer in an online match and have decided i won't bother from now on. It's just special move spammers who constantly back away, removing all fun from the game. I don't get how they can enjoy doing that as it must be even more boring than having to fight them. It was like night and day even compared to the lesser skilled players on ocuk, let alone the gooduns who always keep you on your toes.

Yeah GG's Streeteh, was hard beating your Guy. Since I think you learnt all of Adons moves while playing against me.

I hate Adon's Jaguar Kick, close up it just goes over the person if they're crouching. But effective against projectiles. Jaguar Tooth to Rising Jaguar just rapes tbh.

I had never actually fought Adon so didn't have a clue of his moveset in the first few rounds. Eventually i adapted, i also realised his flying kick off the wall was incredibly low priority so abused that fact as much as possible :p

ggs though, he's certainly a force to be reckoned with and i can see you getting good with him.

I don't reckon Guy will be high tiered. I haven't played him much, but what i was looking forward to with him was his command flip mixups. But it seems to me that the elbow drop from the flip does not combo, which makes it rather useless. The only other option is grab, and i think you need to be really close for that.
If his target combos get blocked, he's open to get combo'd.

Looking to learn him today though!

I think his target combo is all high hits as well so you could be in trouble with DB people. The flip throw needs to be just on/behind the person head to activate, it's quite tricky to get the distances right with the HK version and is probably too slow really anyway. His normal jump to elbow can combo though and still lands shorter than expected. Not sure he will be high tier.

I've been practising some more with Makoto, she's really fun when you get in or land an U2 with juggle on a fireball spammer. Fighting T Hawk was just nasty but still managed to win, his command throw stuff all of her moves, grabs and slide punch :o

The Ibuki I met killed me very easy, she's so mobile I couldn't lock them down and two combo's with one reset stuns :o she's just nasty.

None of the Adon players have taken a round of Gouken yet, his fireballs shut down the moves everyone seems to be just spamming with him. I'm sure he has some more nasty setups but they aren't using them yet.

Didn't get as much time with the game over the weekend as I would've liked but I'm really enjoying playing as Juri, at this point I'm just getting familiar with the game again since I stopped playing SFIV around 4 months ago but I'm liking Juri right now. Anybody using her as their main?

They changed Gouken some, only a couple of good things, the rest is nerfs. His slide punches get through fireballs easier now and people are less likely to fall out of his tatsu but most of his moves and fireballs have all had damage reductions. His demon flip to grab wiff is now vulnerable on land so no more bating srk's with it (which was a bit broken anyway). They said his normals would be faster as well but it looks like all they have really done is change is cr lk from the slowest to joint slowest in the game and slightly upped his recovery from st hk. No love.

Tunnel vision in training mode? :) You don't really notice much in an actual fight.

Of all people I do certainly with Guile.

Sometimes I'm midway through the fight and think to myself, "Arent I dead yet?" to look up at my health bar and see I still have a good third or so left...

Guile's armour/defense/hp (or whatever its called) has not changed from SF4, but as K said, damage has been decreased overall, and some of Guiles moves have been supped up a little. Result?

*Puts Guile type glasses on and grins*

:D
