old drive

hi i've got an old maxtor DiamondMax 10 hdd and wanna see whats on it but i haven't got the connector type on my motherboard or i couldn't see it.is there a cable that can be plugged in to a usb port ?

I assume its an IDE drive (aka PATA) you should have a connector on your motherboard near the sata connectors

or you can get an external caddie for it like this one

You can get cables which convert old IDE PATA drives to be able to be plugged into a USB port. Or you could get a cheap external enclosure for an IDE PATA drive which will plug into your PC's USB port.

Have a search on the OcUK shop.
