Tory vote here. How anyone and vote labour after their 13 year track record is beyond me.

How any one can vote for Tory after their track record in the 80's is beyond me.

I'll vote Lib Dem, If I do even bother. None of the three strike me, is there a box for " I don't want to vote for anyone"?

I no it sounds silly but at least it shows I voiced my opinion, by not voting they could think I don't even care, which isn't true.

Bloody hell, what's with all the Tory support in this forum? Did the blue colour scheme get to everyone? :p

Middle class to affluent forum. As well as Tories being sensible about the future. Lib dems have no longterm stability on security, energy or pretty much anything else. It is all 4 year or less policies.
These forums never represent the national votes on anything.

Thanks.

So you like their health policy even though it involves cutting NHS spending? And I'm not an economist so can't comment on when to start cuts, so whether to cut now or next year I don't know. So, if early cuts are a good thing as you say, where would you consider good places to start?

Cost cutting does not equal reduced services.
Many costs can be cut without losing anything. due to inefficient hiring under labour at the boom period. You asked you got. Regardless of any benefit. This is know unsustainable. I know in the MOJ they hire consultants at 1k per day, when employing their own staff would cost several times less.

Same thing in my industry loads of waste, although it's not deemed a public company we get most of our money of the government.

I believe the Tories are the only ones to have promised to guarantee real yearly increases in NHS spending.

NHS IT, child tax credits for the better off, the child bond for the better off, numerous bureaucracies, the ContactPoint database, silly government projects like their cycle route planner. Anything that does not affect the quality of the less well off too much.

See, my biggest problem with the Conservatives is not they want to get cutting early, but that they will start by first giving the wealthy a tax break (!!!), then cutting correspondingly more from the very bottom, like homeless shelters, services for the disabled and elderly, the sure start program etc.
Well, it looks like you've been reading a Labour leaflet. They have pledged to maintain all of Labour's care commitments, SureStart is not being cut (that was a lie, see: http://blogs.channel4.com/factcheck/2010/03/16/will-sure-start-face-200m-cuts/). Homeless shelters are administered at local levels, so I do not know.

I'll laugh at all you tory voters when they ruin us because it will happen

No, it's already happened. Whichever party gets in is going to have to correct the current unsustainable position, and it will hurt, probably a lot.

The amount of people who get cause and effect confused with regards to politics scares me.

oh do come on, we know they wont be able to make efficiency cuts. But we do need major cuts or we will end up like greece.

I'll laugh at all you tory voters when they ruin us because it will happen

I'm half hoping the Tories don't get in, because when they make the much needed cuts, just like in the 1980s you'll still have people blaming the party not the situation. Thank you Wizzkidy for proving my point :)

I can't see any reason why anyone would want to vote Labour back in this time around.

None of the parties are perfect and I still firmly disagree with Cameron aligning himself with the UAF nutjobs, but he will still be getting my vote tomorrow.

The truth and nothing but the truth.

the trouble is that you can't trust the tories although we must have huge cuts, it's all very confusing.

It's attitudes like this which will make me depressed should the Conservatives get in.

The Tories will not ruin us, they will save us from the financial idiocy of Labour. Unfortunately, mind-numbingly silly people like you will then proceed to blame the Conservatives for the 'hard times' we're inevitably (under any of the three parties) going to suffer.

Look at what Labour have done over the last thirteen years and tell me it's the Tories fault when they make massive cuts to save the country.

I'd like to know something from those who put down Conservative.

How many of those planning to vote Conservative tomorrow are voting because they like the Conservatives plans, and how many because they're "the best of a bad lot"?

And second question, what exactly about the Conservative proposals do you like?

Best of a bad bunch for me. I don't necessarily agree with all their policies, but they don't have many ones I outright oppose.

Agree:
IHT Threshold - This is LONG overdue imo.
Stop NI Rise - If this is indeed achievable
Cut headline rate of corporation tax to 25p and the small companies’ rate to 20%
Cuts
Scrap Stamp Duty for first-time buyers on homes up to £250,000
I also agree with what I've heard from them about schools. There are to many noddy subjects and not nearly enough science/maths/engineering.
Fuel tax stabiliser.

Disagree:
Marriage Tax
Errrm

I think my main problem is the amount of LibDem policies I flat out disagree with, infact I can't see how anyone thinks these are good ideas.

Namely the following...

No Nuclear Power - We don't have enough power in this country, renewable energy is not good/cheap enough for the amount of energy we need.

No Nuclear deterrent - I'd rather have a gun and not need it, than need a gun and not have it. Plus, is it really going to cost that much? 3-4Bn a year, and it will generate so much wealth aswell. You can pretty much guarantee 90% of the workforce will be paying 40% tax, plus the tech and service we will generate from it which could then be exported etc.

10% Bank Tax - We need banks. It doesn't matter how much everyone hates them after the recession, we need them. If they all decide to leave we're screwed.

£2500 Bonus cap - See above. But also, 2.5k isnt an unreasonable amount for someone even on an average wage to accumulate.

£1000 Capital gains tax - Will take a big cut from a lot of people. Certainly in my work sector a lot of companies give stocks/shares over cash bonuses etc. so this could really hit me.

VAT on new builds, like getting on the housing ladder isn't hard enough.

I also really dislike the idea of paying 40% tax when I pay INTO my pension, and the same when I withdraw it. That makes me a sad panda.

EDIT: OH also! In Swindon (my constituency) LD and Labour say they'll bring back the speed cameras :(.

Really? Isn't it a world recession? i.e. global factors were involved?

global factors involved = yes
Just because it is a world recession does not get labour of the hook.
Mismanaging meant our recession and debt was far worse than it needed to be.
