well I got a reply from the ebay seller I bought the desktop cradle and case from, he said he'll get the battery posted today(some one in packaging made a mistake, normal website orders don't include the battery free(is a £9.95 extra) but the ebay listing did) and that the case is not due in monday(10th) at the earliest.

he gave me 3 options for the case 1) keep waiting till they get stock; 2) swap to the flip version which they have stock of; 3) cancle the order for a refund. I would swap to the flip case but from what i can tell from the pics I've seen the headphone socket is covered when flip the case cover is closed.

the car charger came this morning, not tested it yet to see if it works or not. going to test is a bit later as I'm going out shortly.

p.s. I know I'm talking to myself but what the hey :)
 
got this but off ebay(Item number: 360252781792) instead of directly of their site, not sure if he's listing the cradle on ebay anymore with the free battery(the sellers user name is oman666 if anyone wants to check).

the famous site begining with p is now showing 12th as the expected release date for the official screen protector, the htc site is saying estimated 4days(i.e. monday).
 
Another question.... contact photos.

I have downloaded Company logos for the likes of my Insurance company, Takeaways etc to please my OCD side.

Can I now delete these from my downloaded images or will that remove them from the contacts as well?
 
Should be able to delete but a better way is to manage contact pics in Gmail then they will push to the phone!

email address: name.surname
server address: services.ourdomain.com
Domain: our local domain name
username: name.surname
password: my password

and the SSL box is ticked.

perhaps have a word with your IT dept. to see if they have enabled activesync and associated it with an alias (the services.ourdomain.com part).

Thanks. I know our setup works with iPhones, does that mean it should work with Android?

If you want all your contact images to go crap quality then yes, this is the best.

I have my contacts backed up to Gmail but I aint using them till this problem is sorted. I like my hi-res caller photos....


Got my case today :D

Would take pics of it but I only have the Desire as a camera so cant take pics of it in the case. You will need to do with a stock image -

Definitely concerned now. 2nd time I've used the Mains Charger, 2nd time the bezel has also been charged. :/

Hard to explain. Not getting shocked, but that sort of throbbing, electric feel. To quote MGMT...

I get the same with my Desire while charging. It's nothing to worry about. Many electrical items do the same. I believe it is to do with filter capacitors across the mains to earth.
 
Anyone got a clue about O2 release?

I've read a few reviews but how's the camera? Wouldn't mind seeing some pics took by people on here with it.

Taken yesterday. Quite a lot of light coming in from the window. Camera is very good quality.

May be worth trying going into your mobile network setting and searching for networks, then connect to the correct one. You could also try the select automatically option just above the manual selection bit :)

I bought that cradle and extra battery from him. Hopefully it will be delivered when I get home tomorrow night
 
Anyone know a good app to monitor traffic usage, particularly 3G. I've been using Smart Monitor Lite but it's a bit iffy. Was using 3G at work this morning doing a bit of ebaying and checked it after the session, said I'd used 0b. Checked it a few hours ago and it still said I'd used 0b, this was after some more surfing and a bit of beebplayer. Just checked it now and it says 43mb used :|. I really want one that will update in real-time so I can properly monitor my usage. I don't want any suprises. What's Orange's policy if I go over 500mb, a warning or an instant charge?
