The City doesn't give a monkeys about a hung parliament, it's priced in already. If it slides it will be on the madness that Skynet performed on the American markets yesterday.

Yeah, any swing from the election will be dwarfed by events elsewhere.

people try and say theirs no such thing as a north/south divide : i think you only have to look at this to see otherwise.

not to be racist or whatever: but the sooner we let scotland be free or whatever they want and stop voting in this election the better for england.

We will go back into recession and lose our triple A credit rating, because of labour poor handling of our finances.

Greece's deficit will nothing compared to the UK's when it's eventually revealed.

The Lib Dems have three times the mandate of the difference between the Tories and Labour. While the combined vote of Labour and the Liberals also constitutes a plurarity. I don't think it can be seriously argued that a Lib-Lab pact represents the will of the people less than a minority Tory government.

So do you advocate a collation of net losers? Both lost seats and votes this election. Furthermore, with that logic, a Lib-Con pact would represent the will of the people much better than a lib-lab one, and if people stopped frothing at the mouth and actually looked at the policies of the parties, would probably make more sense if Cameron offers the olive branch of a free vote on political reform.

Assuming of course that Labour + LD seats total more than 325. If they don't, they're going to have to make concessions to nationalists. That'd be tough to swallow for English voters.

Remember the Speaker+Deputy, and Sinn Fein, don't vote. If Lab-Lib can hit 320ish they can form a government with the slimest of effective majorities. I'd expect the Greens to mostly back Lib-Lab, and the Alliance party in NI is officially a sister party to the Libs, giving the coallition two effective extra votes. Finally, whether officially in opposition or not, the Nationalists are highly socialist and thus likely to support the Lib-Lab pact in areas the Tories oppose; whilst the Tories are likely to back necessary austerity measures which the Nationalists may well oppose.

this just shows how much of a mess our country is in, GB won't resign even though Conservatives have majority of the seats, what a sham this hung parliment puts great britain in no mans land, not the best place to be IMO. :(

I don't know.. Maybe if we adopt the attitude of fixing the broken system for the long term benefit than just keeping the status quo for short term gain, we may see some good out of this in the future (But it won't be tomorrow, or next week, which is what anyone ever cares about anymore :().

So now the civil servants are involved

We could end up with a government that the majority never voted for :(

Yep , Gordon Brown and his cronies are trying for a pact with the lib dems to form government..

If this happens and Labour are back in power i'll never vote again and i spit on the democracy we are supposed to have :mad:

I'm hoping if Lib Dems do form a Coalition with Labour it is on the basis that Gordon Brown resigns. I would be extremely happy if this were to happen.

Though really, if Brown/Labour were so bad then why did Cameron/Tories not win by a land slide?

People should realise that it's clear that the majority of the British public still do not trust the Conservatives.

The 247 of Labour + 51 of Lib Dems + the 20 or so others confirms this.
