BenQ G2420HDBL (LED Backlit) or BenQ G2420HD

Could someone please just confirm if I buy a blu-ray drive I'll be able to watch blu-rays without issue, through DVI with this screen? From posts I've seen people have no issue with consoles which are HDCP I believe?

The monitor supports HDCP, so as long as your Optical Drive and Graphics card support HDCP and you have the appropiate program to play back Blu-Ray, you'll be fine.

Just arrived. First thing...check for dead/stuck/drunk pixels; phew! None!!

Always my biggest fear when buying plasma's and this, my first LCD monitor.

First impressions, wow, for the dosh I got it for, excellent. No backlight bleed I can see, but will have a better idea when it gets darker.

Chuffed.

Bonus, so much desk space freed up after my 21" CRT!

Well guys , first of all Hello ! :D
Second , after reading all pages and not skipping any post i've decided to actually buy the g2420hdbl as an upgrade to my ex lg l1950s 19" . The new monitor is amazing . Realistic colours , very good brightness/contrast , assassins creed 2 is a pleasure in 1920/1080 with maxed out details . Nevertheless happiness isn't made to last ... after only 4 days i've noticed a stuck pixel (i guess that's how it's called) . It can be easily seen on a black screen . In windows it's pretty darn hard to notice it at all. Some i think call this a "lighted pixel". It's around the middle 1 cm away from the taskbar . I've read all kind of things about apps that can unblock these kinds of pixels like udpixel (hope it's not considered an advertisment or anything) or even play a movie that flashes all kinds of colours for hours , nothing worked since morning . The screen is great but that pixel makes me crazy ! And i've only got the screen for 4 days now . Anyone else has any ideas ? Is there anything i can really do or ill just have to wait for 3 more stuck pixels to appear so i can exchange it on warranty ? Any advice is welcomed ! Glad to be around , cheers !

I just got one of these, was a little worried as the box has definitely been opened (albeit carefully). Expect something returned under distance selling regs.

So obviously I was worried about pixels.
Just wondering, how obvious are dead pixels?
I can't spot any, and have run a few of the online test tools.

I guess if I can't notice it, it doesnt matter.... but just wondering if they are glaringly obvious?

And from the previous post, will they show up in a few days?

Yep. Plus once you see them on your screen, your eyes will forever be drawn to it, like a bee to a honey pot.

Well at least it's worth a try ... can you name some of them ? If not here on the topic any PMwould be helpfull

You could try,UDPixel,StuckSweep,JScreenFix :)
