Except in 97 where even if you take 72 seats (the number of Scottish seats) from Labour they still end up with 350-odd seats, which is more than enough to form a government :p

Lib and conserv , possible final talks tonight!...

Will see by tomorrow or sunday , the markets want it done by monday

Clegg has closer political views to labour than the tories though.

He shot himself in the foot with that statement on TV :p

On the contrary, Clegg is closer to the tories on most issues with the exception of electoral reform and Europe.

As the Lib Dems lost seats after all that campaigning I'm sure Clegg isn't about to turn down any half decent offer from Cameron. If the Lib Dems couldn't make a dent in this election after Cleggmania how can they expect him to improve next time? I reckon he will jump at the chance of holding a high position in a coalition government. It will be down to the 2 thirds of the Lib Dems agreeing to this.

Eh? Not really, I don't think.

The England vs Scotland sentiment tends to be most strongly felt north of the border ;) I don't think I'm alone in being happy to have Scots playing their part in the governance of our union.

Excellent, it is not something i think about, really just jesting.

If you listen to his speech when he spoke of sticking with his word, the words he used leave it very open for them to still team with labour if the conservative marriage falls through

"Barking electorate in sensible decision shocker!"

Not just Barking either, the BNP failed miserably, they lost over half of their local councillors and got thrashed in the constituencies they were competing in too. Ho-hum

He blamed the high turnout of 61.8 per cent for counting against him.
This says everything really - relying on people not voting for his small band of miscreants to get any significant proportional level of support

Nice to see the irrational hatred of the tories continue on the worlds favourite Web 2.0 lib-dem election tool that is facebook.

I voted Tory & Lib Dems :p, I agree that most of us young Lib Dems seem to have an irrational hatred of the tories...

I agree with Nick, in that the Tories should have the first chance of forming a government, I agree with David that there should be an offer to the Lib Dems (though I think PR will be an important issue) and I agree with John Major in that the Lib Dems should get some cabinet positions!

Very disappointing. I expected better from Britain's malcontents! Where were they when the BNP needed them? :p

Any deal with the Lib Dems should offer cabinet positions and PR (or at the very least a referendum on the issue). If I was DC, I'd be asking Clegg to name his portfolio and favourite brand of lube!

I dispair at my Facebook homepage these last few weeks.

Can I just delete all my friends and add OcUK'ers instead?

One thing I've just noticed today, the pound reached a one year low :( .

On Wednesday I converted $893.25 to be £591.82. Today it's £603.42. For any other Apple fanboys that's the price of a 64GB iPad 3G including sales tax in Raleigh North Carolina.

At close today 1 GBP = 1.48030 USD.

Whatever happened to the days of £1=$2? :( :(
