** Rolling Road 10 - Official graphs, pictures, and videos thread **

So am I right in thinking "Corrected power" is the more 'accurate' figure to be using than the "Engine power" one? :)

For mine there's only 2bhp in it but 166 sounds better than 164 ;)

Also, IIRC from the last RR people said that the wheel figures are to be disregarded; would someone like to explain to me how this is the case (without this degenerating into another moan about the dyno accuracy)? I don't know a low about how they work :)

Corrected power is the one to use, yes.

Wheel power is to be ignored because there are two rollers causing two contact points of drag, well that's basically the jist of what I understood from last time. Think the two rollers are calibrated to generate a proper bhp figure, but hasn't been adjusted properly for the wheel figure *I think*. (Probably got the last bit wrong :p).

I spy that M44RAO has a GRS intercooler so I'd hazard a guess that he's also got a 17% pulley, maybe a Dave.F airbox (can't tell from the pic), Janspeed manifold and Milltek exhaust.

(I have no idea really but they seem to be the standard mods path that most Mini owners go down)

240hp is pretty impressive though, must fly

It's fairly rapid!

240-250 isn't that hard to achieve to be honest, just easy bolt on bits really. Once mine is out of warranty in October I'll be changing my pulley and maybe a few other small changes :)

To be honest I've found that it is kinda hard to get. --Mike--'s car had a full GTT conversion which was pretty similar, bar the exhaust and throttle body.. which included a remap.

What was that camera doing in the corner and why is everyone messing with it? :D

It's for some footage, which I'm trying to get to gel together.. isn't working so far :o

I bet those minis cause serious upset especially the de badged one

Kosta, didn't realise that was your brother and Dad. A question about your brother's Mini... is it a conversion? It's just the exhaust... don't the boosted Mini's have the exhaust pipes in the centre of the bumper? Either way, a good result!

Nope not a conversion, I convinced him to put all the stuff from his Cooper, on his Cooper S when he bought it. The body kit and exhaust etc, to make it look like a Cooper, works quite well I think, as I'm sure most think it's just a Cooper..

Mario's car is as follows:

Alta 17% reduced supercharger pulley
GRS intercooler
M7 cold air intake
Janspeed manifold
Millteck exhaust from a Cooper with no centre resonator
M7 enlarger throttle body
MSD coilpack and magnacore ignition leads
M7 oil catch can

That's right, there has been NO remap so far. He's waiting to do a cam and the heads before the remap.

1320 seem to manage that sort of power fairly easily. GTT probably don't cos they're crap. They never used to make quoted power on the R5 turbos and their mini products aren't up to much IMO. Word on the street is that they're going through difficult times which can only be a good thing if it's true, the tuning scene can do without companies like them.

Here's two videos so far, it would seem as though the audio sync keeps getting destroyed when going on youtube which some of the videos after they've been edited, so I'm trying different formats.

These two seem ok so far though..

still a bit more to come. hit the speed limiter in 5th at about 4000rpm, this run was in 4th where it hit at just over 5300rpm but redline isnt until 6500rpm and the power was still climbing. Ignore the curves before about 2500rpm as that was just trying to feed the power in, as 4th would spin the rollers. Hence 3rd wouldn't have hit the speed limiter and given a full rpm range but wouldn't have got any traction at all!

torrque figure wont increase as peak was at 3500rpm.

quite happy as its stock minus the secondary cats, although most make a bit over book figures apparently.:)

These make a lot of sense as daily mile munchers and I am becoming tempted but the fuel consumption keeps putting me off really as I HATE stopping every 200 miles for juice! Still thinking the A8 is where I will end up for my weekday muncher.

ScoobyDoo those vids are great :D Brings out the deafening noise in mine :D nicely edited. Look great on youtube too :)

Glad you like them mate. There's 3 currently pending in the youtube upload list, so hopefully they should be live soon too. I really need to get myself some decent video editing software though, as I'm using Windows Live Movie Maker :o

 There so much power loss between the engine power & wheel power on cars

Cheers for all the pictures and videos guys they look brilliant, I had to shoot pretty early to get back to Surrey so missed out on the pub banter.

Howard - Can you email me any photos you took of my car at PS?
Scooby (& anyone with video) - Could you email me the footage of my car on the rollers?

Email in trust.

Looking forward to the next RR/Hoon!
