*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

gah, i phoned up Orange on thursday to sort out an upgrade was told I was 2 days too early and that they would phone me back tomorrow and sort then, now ive just checked and there out of stock

Keep checking and don't trust their email me when it's in stock option. They were, apparently briefly, back in stock on Friday (at least they were taking orders again then instead of showing it out of stock online).

After having had mine for a week or so now, I'm loving it! Mine came completely unbranded, and a quick call to tmobile after receiving it from mobile phones direct means I got upgraded to the Plus internet and allowed to use my booster for what i wanted....meaning:

300 minutes
Unlimited texts
3gb Softlimit data usage
18 month contract
Free phone
£25 a month.

Really don't think I could've done too much better! The phone is spot on and I'm really not missing the iPhone, although incidentally I may be getting an iPhone 3GS instead of a HD2 for work....so best of both?

Tom.

The 3GS would feel like a toy after you've used the massive screened HD2 though really :p

I don't understand how Vodafone don't up their bandwidth allowance when the likes of Tmobile are giving 3GB soft limits, it boggles the mind.

wont contacts/cal sync with gmail directly on the phone?

Just wondering, cus i cant connect my iphone to my pc (mobo wont install the driver properly.. p55 socket error blah etc)
but if the desire is just "drag/drop" for music then i cant see it being any hassle

Contacts, Calendar and Mail all sync into Google without the need for a PC connection, just sign into your Gmail account.

You can just drag and drop music onto it, when you connect the phone you can connect it so the computer will pick it up as a mass storage device which you can just put music files on.

Perfect, cheers :D Desire reminds me of my omnia, especially with that optical track button thing :)

Sounds like a great deal, I'd be very tempted by that seeing as my contract with Vodafone finishes in just under 2 months.

How are you finding T-Mobile? I've heard some people say their signal coverage isn't always that great.

My desire's on Orange, I want to get rid of "Sense" but the only option I'm left with is the awful Orange home screen and not the normal Android one, am I going to have to root to get round this?

right, tonight im ringing up tmobile and getting that 3gb usage and unlimited texts cause I went from mpd too! Its a double win!

SenseUI is very good on the Desire really. You could install helix 2 launcher which is a Nexus one clone with many more added features and 7 home screens though.

By not using Sense you lose the ability to use HTC widgets, worth noting!

Given that Sense is one of the main selling points of the Desire its puzzling you bought one in the first place ! :D

Strange that mobile phones direct didn't include internet plus in the deal. Are you paying extra for it?
