Yes, Cameron and the Party seniors have shown good leadership.
You all know I'm biased, but I am really impressed by them, especially Hague. They seem to be putting the nation first.

I will be broken, if after all of this, assuming a Tory victory, Hague doesn't have his pick of the Cabinet positions (Foreign for the win).

Denise Dugmore, from Birmingham, writes: I am so very disappointed with Nick Clegg who I had come to admire during the campaign. However it now seems that rather than being interested in a new start on politics, with openness and listening to the voters, all he is interested in is his own needs.
Indeed.

Scroll up. I have told you and I am not repeating myself.

You really haven't... the most you've said is that Clegg needs to be fully informed.
However, it doesn't matter what Brown can offer as the coalition cannot get enough numbers without the Nationalist parties.
Equally the people gave the most seats and votes to Tories, as such even by Cleggs own view, they should be the ones forming the government

BREAKING NEWS - Number 10 recognises that talks with the Lib Dems have not and will reach not any positive conclusion, and they are now discussing the method of declaring that their side of the negotiation is over, BBC Radio 5 Live's political correspondent Jon Pienaar says.

Except that historically, in an informal way and earlier the rules were clarified that the outgoing party has first shot at trying to form a government be that a minority one or a coalition. There is nothing to stop Labour and Lib Dem going to the queen with a coalition and being a few seats short of a majority - same situation as the Con going by themelves as a minority.

The only difference is whether the Queen's speech would then get voted down. I suspect the Tories would be bitter and vote it down which would mean the Cons could approach the Queen to form a government. That might then equally get voted down which would mean another Genral Election. Of course that would take time to organise and the markets would be turmoil etc. Not even the Cons may want that put to their name.

I suspect that a Con minority government approach may not get voted down if some concessions are made to the Lib Dem. Equally a full blown Con/Lib coalition would obviously have enough votes to vote it through.

So all of them are valid and really it's down to them as to which way it goes. It doesn't mean that it would be popular with the public, whichever way.

Libs and Cons reported now as crossing the t's and dotting the i's and that Labour have folded their bluff weak pair of 3's ;)

Yes current government has the (unwritten rule) chance of trying first, but there was no need for Clegg to meet Brown. He could have simply said "not interested, the people have voted. there are only 3 outcomes...."

Are mine and similar posts telling you that the political parties are not authoritarian groups invisible to you, or do you just prefer to ignore them so you can keep up the pretence that Nick Clegg is acting completely on his own?

Tory supporters just looking for someone to blame because they're still not in government yet. Clearly it's all Clegg's fault ;)

I hope nobody is really actually taken in by it.
