Higher amount or higher %?

Higher %. I object to paying 40%+. I don't mind paying more per se, obviously I earn more so 20% of my salary might be more than 20% of yours for example.

It just strikes me as unfair. You put effort into your career and succeed and are unable to fully realise the benefits.

I got half of my bonus because of tax - that sucks :(

Because they get additional legal responsibilities to each other over non-married individuals?

I'm still not sure what having additional responsibilities to each other has to do with tax, which is a responsibility to the state?

Shouldn't marriage be tax neutral?

But anyway, it's only £3 a week, nothing massive.

They managed to get a few Conversative policies to be put on hold, ie the ceiling for IHT.

Thanks for the reply.

So, you mean, all they managed to wangle was a hold on the inheritance tax?

Is that true? if so, that is a bit of a joke, I'm sure a lot more will come out in the wash tomorrow,

And no referendum on PR? As most of us that voted Lib dem wanted that. Well for me it was that and a alternative for an aged trident.

Clegg sat behind Cam shouting "here here"

I certainly hope they can make this work. Shouting at each other from two swords length away doesn't get us anywhere.

In fact, I hope Milliband, and even the Sith Lord, join in. Put party politics aside and do what's best for your country.
