*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Only used 40mb in the last week and a half, mainly because most of my time is spent in places with wifi. the 40mb includes a few sat nav trips and looking at football scores. Along with any friend stream, stock market and weather updates.

I have however used nearly 500mb of wifi data lol. But that is because I browse the net, use ebuddy, have downloading tonnes of apps only to delete them but I've made sure I did all this on the wifi.

I've used 117MB this month but 92MB of that was purposefully streaming radio for a few hours - not any more though since Vodafone aren't going to charge me any more the moment I go over 500MB.

Also I've switched back to the stock keyboard from Swype and I swear the home screens feel faster...

Ive done the same as well...got rid of Swype and went back to the stock keyboard...swype is a good idea but until they sort out a few issues with it ill leave it and i dont find im anymore quicker using swype than stock keyboard.

Having to bring mine into a Vodafone store store today to try and get it replaced. A spec of something has gotten behind the screen. The top right corner of the screen keeps popping up a little.

Picked mine up this morning from the PO, I feel that I have been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century after the N97! I do miss the keyboard, but crikey, quite a good phone this! :)

Off to browse the apps thread...

Just to confuse matters, my cheap Tesco car charger is seen as an AC power source by the Desire but has a sticker on it saying Output: 500mA. I'll leave the GPS on during my next journey on see if I get an overall charge or run down.

I'd actually be bit wary of using that tbh, as the phone may well be trying to pull over 500mA if it's seeing it as an AC source. If the adapter really is cheap and nasty it might not have the necessary protection for this.

I find that my battery lasts just as long with or without the GPS radio 'on' (as defined in the system menu).

The battery only seems to be drained when an application is actually using the GPS (the icon appears in the status bar).

Therefore, leaving it 'on' all the time has no impact unless you are actually using it?

Can anybody else confirm?

That's correct but I leave it off via toggle switch anyway as when programs strictly need it they take you to the on/off screen anyway.

Status updates in twitter etc may try using GPS for geolocation as well as other services so I turn it off in general.

Anyone know how to use voice dialling?
I need to set up my bluetooth car kit for voice dialling since ditching that crappy touch diamond.
Can't find any options under 'contacts' to add voice dial.

Desire by default doesn't do this, I've yet to find a collection of apps to replicate the function.

Using a Bluetooth headset on this phone is only good for receiving calls, which is a bit rubbish.
