I'm stuck with a 500MB allowance for 2 years and i don't think it's enough. I phoned 191 - customer services - and they say they won't upgrade my allowance.

500MB equates to just over 16MB a day. It's now 1.30AM - a new day - and i haven't used my phone at all and already I've used 2.74MB of my allowance. I only have Sky News and Weather-Bug apps running!

Surely, these phones are purely meant for downloading and maybe Vodafone know this and want everyone to go over their allowance. How much allowance would the Navigation App take?

This phone has so much potential, yet I've got Vodafone pulling me at the reigns holding me back.

BTW .... my usage has gone up to 3.23MB - even though i haven't done anything on my phone!

If you don't have wifi at home, you will struggle.

On my HTC Hero I had for 7 months, orange had a 500mb hard cap. This meant I had to ration use a bit (not installing large apps on mobile network and not streaming video was usually enough) to ensure I had enough till the end of the month.

Currently on my X10, using roughly the same apps (no weather app basically) and same email, social networking accounts, it seems to use slightly less.

edit: Also I thought under the new T&C you simply pay £5 for an additional 500MB. So you can have more use if you wish.

Hmmm .... thanks, have to check that out .... just wonder why Vodafone bluntly said "NO" to me....

.... also it's now 2AM and my usage has gone up to 3.93MB .... 500MB is definitely not enough!

Before it used to be the case the 500MB was an FUP and so they could only start charging you if you persistently go over 500MB.

Now, as you've probably signed they can charge as soon as you go over 500MB at a rate of £5 per 500MB.
