Rugby League Season Starts Soon

I can tell you, I was deeply embarrased yesterday for Bradford. No energy, no support and what seemed to be a couldn't careless atitude.

We nearly spent £400 on the weekend, thank god now I stopped at home and took the girlfriend out, much better value lol.

Had a good time (obviously Wigan's performance helped :) )

There was a noticeable dip in numbers, especially in the bars and pubs near the ground. Less queuing so I'm not complaining. It will be interesting to see if it takes place again next year. I'm all for it, but I do think it needs some tweaks. I'd go back to the derbies and I've seen some suggestions for a 'heritage' weekend - all play in retro strips like they do in the NRL. Cardiff or Edinburgh are both fine with me

Warrington and Saints both lost, which almost certainly means that Wigan will lose today.

No offence to their fans but how did the Wakefield v Bradford game get on TV when Leeds v Wire was being played?

Its the lottery of sky selection. This year, the Bulls have certainly had a lot of Sky coverage.

We were only informed a couple of weeks ago, that our home Leeds game was being shown on Sky and at a later time. They seem to have a lot of control over what happens these days.

Just got back from Huddersfield. That was everything you could want in a game - good weather, two teams who absolutely ripped into each other (clearly no love lost there), a referee who infuriated everybody, nip and tuck all the way through and my team pulled away to win right at the end. Brilliant :)

Wigan v Saints has been postponed from its Friday slot to a time tba by Sky (Saturday or Sunday evening of the same weekend). It clashes with the England v Algeria WC game so its understandable I suppose.

Ok, I might start posting again now. Flawless display from Rovers today, they were absolutely magnificent. Beat Crusaders 54-10. Dobson was outstanding.

They seemed to play more free flowing, creative rugby, always running onto the ball and keeping the momentum going forward. Watch out for the highlights on Boots n All for HKR's last try by Kris Welham, absolutely amazing try, hooter had gone and Dobson kicked it forwards, caught by Cockayne, passed to Welham and got the final try. Peter Fox and Clint Newton also got some great trys. In fact, I don't think I have seen Rovers play that good for a year!

Oh, and now Raynor has been sentenced to 15 months in prison! He got a lot of stick from our fans on Sunday (rightfully so) with chants like "Raynors going down!" to the tune of Three Lions.

James Child was absolutely shocking. Terrible referee, was terrible at Bradford and was terrible at Saints. Not fit to referee. That said, we still deserved to lose by a similar scoreline. Absolutely awful display. Just stood in the stand feeling all rather embarrassed. Very disapointing performance.

I really thought we had turned a corner after last weekend, but clearly not, Morgan out!

Top day in the sun at Wrexham yesterday. The game wasn't up to much. Wigan were 28-0 up after 20 minutes and then just did what they had to. It is a bit of a worry that they've done that a few times this season whilst Sts would have really put them to the sword.

It is a cracking day out and if you've not been before I strongly recommend it. Pretty good atmosphere in the Turf beer 'garden' before and after the game.

Uncle Albert refereed. I have to ask myself, would this bloke be a SL ref if he came form Leigh? I think we know the answer to that one.

Just hope that Bradfut knock 7 bells out of Leeds tonight :)

Winning in the last minute is the best feeling in the world. Losing in the last minute (especially in a game that you should have won) is the worst. Sam Tomkins isn't the finished article until he can guide a team through the last few minutes of games like these. Leeds have been champions for the last 3 years and their experience of playing in the really big games got them through

On a statistical note, each of the games Wigan have lost this season have had the same referee.
