Having problems with my SSD, turned my computer on this morning and it didn't see my OCZ drive so restarted and then loaded win7 fine, after about an hour my computer suddenly restarted when i sneezed and then didn't see the drive again!? I checked the cables and all was fine, rebooted and seen the drive again so i ran HDTune to check the drive and it is showing up this

I have scanned the drive but there are no damaged sectors, If I wiped and formatted my ocz drive and reinstalled would it still show this problem?

Is there a new firmware that might solve this? I have not had a problem with this drive untill now.

Thanks for any info

Just means that according to the SMART data the drive has gone over the threshold allowance for raw read errors. However there doesn't appear to be any data to back that up and it isn't as straight forward as standard disc drives.

I'd backup your data, do a firmware update to the very latest version. Maybe do a full wipe as well if the update doesn't do it.

I believe i read on ocz forum SMART don't give 100% correct reading yet on the LE but you should go update your Vertex LE asap if its not already on fw v1.05 as it contains important stability fixes.

It never used to show the rar read error rate when i first got the drive. Now it show's "bad" in crystal disk info which it never showed before!?

I don't have sleep and hibernate enabled and also don't have disk power saving on the Vertex LE drive however i do have power saving on my storage drive, should i turn that off?

I'm going to update the drive but going to backup everything onto a separate disk drive first

Cool, think it sorted now, I changed to AHCI and then updated my disk to 1.05 and show's health again now!

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Having a problem playing counter strike source now, the game freezes when trying to enter a server!? It maybe because of changing to AHCI, is it possible to change back now I have updated the firmware?

Thats strange indeed
Just to be on the safe side do a "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" from within Steam and perhaps run a System Scan on the SSD might be worth a try.
Dunno about the AHCI to IDE but i don't think its a problem, just not 100% sure...but Vertex LE and 2 works best in AHCI mode.
