Which I assumed meant the person he was speaking to was a salesman of some sort as regular customer service people dont work on commission, sales people do.


CSA's are not paid NOT to give PAC codes.... They may be paid to retain a customer by offering them something which ties them into another contract (upgraded hanset, money off bills etc) but simply NOT giving a PAC code does NOT earn anyone commission.

People in the retentions department are paid a bonus for retaining customers - ie converting people from leavers into stayers. They are also the only people who can provide PAC codes.
 
Picked up my Desire from CPW (pay as you go), not had much of a chance to play yet. Couple of quick question, how do you adjust phone vibrate when ringing/text. Turn on and off etc.

Also When the phone is set to Wifi and 3g does it auto switch to wifi when connected or it going to keep tryingto use data.

Vibration when ringing, Menu -> Settings -> Sound and Display -> Toggle the 'Vibrate' option

Vibrate on text, Messages -> Menu -> Settings -> Toggle the 'Vibrate' option

It auto switches to Wifi when connected to a network. :)
 
As there was nothing software wise in the box what is the best way to sync/backup my device once connected to a pc guys?

Got HTC Sync but it doesn't show as connected when I plug it in even though it appeared to install some drivers?

EDIT: Unlocked screen and it was waiting for me to choose :)

Can anyone give me an idea how to move my contacts over from my sony c905. I put the contacts all on the sim and can access them on the desire, but i need to move them to the phone so i can add the extra data back in.
Or even better would be a way to move my complete contacts (with email address, etc) from the sony.

Loving the desire, but dont have a clue about it yet :p
 
Has anyone experienced trying to upload a video from your Desire to youtube and it cutting off the last second or so's video, but the sound remains?

I'm not sure if it's youtube or the Desire as I can download the full video in mp4 format on the other 1/2's mac OK, but playing it through the youtube video player chops the end off. Same viewing it on my PC, chops off the last second or so.

I made a 2nd video as a test and it does the same :( you can here the audio in the last second but the video just blurs out and stops..

Hey, been playing with network settings and i seem to be stuck with mobile data always on. It was set to turn on if wifi not found, i clicked it now its either on or off cant get it to tell me it'll connect if wifi isnt avail. Any ideas? i have gone back through the setup and switched it to wifi and mobile data, i have the G at the top of my screen, wasnt getting that if i was on wifi.

It won't use your data if you have Wifi on.

that is true but if he is getting the g symbol and not the wifi symbol, then that means the data is being used not the wifi.

I've had on a few occassions where both the data and wifi symbol have been on, sometimes had to turn phone off then on to sort it out as unticking the wifi then reticking it didn't sort it out.

Reset and make sure initial setup is for the UK? I've forgotten now if the initial setup screen asks for your locale!

Also, some sites said previously that AMOLED is hard to use in sunlight but I've had no problems whatsoever? In sunlight the autobrightness just ramps the screen to max and it's normal to read.
