Just had a very strange call from a woman saying she was going to sort out problems that were being reported from my computer...erm, I started to ask her what service provider she was with, and she said she was working for the operating system, so then I said 'so you work for microsoft' she said yes - then I told her I actually use a mac (I use both :P ) and she got really arsy and then said she was only trying to sort out my problems! I told her that any error messages I have I don't send on to microsoft and couldn't see how any problems I have can be reported (I have no problems)...she really went into one then, so I calmly said - ok my pc is on but before I go anywhere can I have your name...(which she gave), and then I said, 'Ok I am ready to see what you require, but also let me tell you I have logged the call and recorded it' she promptly put phone down

anyone else had this?

You have more patience than me.

"Sorry I'm not interested..... No, sorry I'm not interested.......<sigh>...... Goodbye :) <hangup>"

Normally I just make something stupid up and tell them that.

Had a telemarketer ask for my dad to come to the phone to sell him something. I replied back "he's afraid of phones" Much to the callers shock...

I work for a technical support company. We've had several dozen of our customers ring up saying they've just spoken with "us" but found it alittle odd because it was a cold call (which we dont do).

One women started cying on the phone to me because she'd payed them thinking it was renewing her subscription with us. Makes me sick these people...cant it be stopped? Most have a website & london based telephone number. Im sure it gets routed to the other side of the world but enough is enough.

I'd love to get a call. I'd play along for ages and then suddenly tell them I don't have a computer or something

The problem is peoples stupidity, lack of reasoning, and critical analysis. If you can come up with a way to stop stupid people being stupid, you'll be onto a winner.

I've had one of these calls, I just getting asking him questions and pointed out its illegel for their "business" to be monitoring my activity without my consent, at which point he just hung up on me.

When I asked for the company name he did actually give me one that had a website listed on google, shame I've forgotten the name :(

i once had a scottish guy ring up and told me i won a prize i quickly gathered the family around put it on speaker and strung him along for 10 minutes it ended in him telling me to Please fully star out swearing in future, thanks off and hanging up on me, had quite a few lols out of that.

Politeness to scammer. These days it's just hang up once I know they're a scammer. Not that it happens anymore, since I got rid of landline several years ago. Or should I say just have no phone connected.

Also when ever I change mobile phones, I change numbers.

I wish I got these kinds of calls, but sadly I don't... I would reply with something along the lines of.. " I am GOZOR, are you the key maker? "
