What good strategy games are out there atm?

Just picked up a Game bundle with GalCiv II Ultimate, Sins of a Solar Empire, Darkstar One and Star Assualt for £15... not sure I'll ever get round to playing the last 2, but very much enjoying GalCiv II and looking forward to Sins.

Woefully lost a couple of generic matches so now working my way through some of the campaign maps while I figure out a balance for splitting research/planet/ship building.
 
I've just been through the tutorial on Napoleon, and looking forward to getting stuck into the campaigns, as they look realy interesting :)

One that hasn't been mentioned is Hearts of Iron 3 ... I think it's the daddy of the strategy games if you've got the stamina to get over the learning curve... check out the seperate thread
 
Red Alert 3 is pretty good if you like old school action. The co-op can be fun if you have a friend and i haven't played the expansion but its single player only so could be good if you like that.

Command and Conquer 4 on the other hand? Did not like at all!

the game is £6.91 digital download with all 3 expansion packs...

Is the retail version worth it? are there any cool maps / wall charts worth having?
 
rofl my ship that analyses anomalies went to a black hole - it got ported "to somewhere who knows" ended up 2 squares to the left. lol. Good job really 2 more asteroids to check out

Where's that from?

Basically since I started this thread I've read up a lot of games and only played civ 4 (which I'm rubbish at but enjoy immensely!).

Men of War! Best stratgey game there is, it blows anything else out of the water tbh. I can't comment on the single player, I only play multiplayer (which is not for the faint hearted). Multiplayer makes this the hardest stratgey game ever, its really realistic and punishing for silly mistakes. Once you get into it you couldn't go back to Company of Heroes :p
