Your perfect phone

the screen is great. its just android 1.6 holding the amount of colours back. once its updated via either SE or root it will support the proper however million colours

not having root is disappointing though :(

What would make you recommend the X10 over the Desire though? Assuming you've used both.

You're thinking of Automatic watches right, perpetual motion is something completely different! ;)

(perpetual motion is believed to be impossible with our known rules of energy. :D)

LauncherPro, try it (from the market).

Ah ok, so it's another skin, sense is a little more than that. There are things like that available for WinMo (have been for years) but touch flo and sense destroy them. :p

Ah, that's a lot better (and tbh if I wasn't comparing them side by side I probably wouldn't notice anyway...)

Still, rooting will hopefully come soon. :)

The HD2, Desire and X10 are all very good phones though, just they all have things wrong with them.

(And I take back what I said about them having capacitive screens in the other thread, the screens are a lot better than a friends iPod Touch which wouldn't register nails...)

I assume you can stick other keyboards on the X10 easily though? The tiny space bar was doing my nut when I tested it out. :p

For your info. ;)

Rolex Submariner

is a everlasting mechanism of perfection, a timepiece of its own unique status. It is a watch that could serve you in your next expedition to Antarctic.

Rolex Submariner watch

has an automatic movement and it doesn't require an energy source. It is a self-winding watch that winds automatically every time you move your wrist. A small rotor is started up at a flick of a wrist and it winds the spring automatically. Your watch is constantly loaded with an endless source of energy. Who said that Perpetuum Mobile is not possible?

Thats the sort of thing I meant. :)

I would say the same for the people that want rid of Sense almost as soon as they get the phone.

Now of someone could tell me 10 GOOD tangible advantages of not having Sense then I may think diff
Or tell us 10 tangible advantages of having it?

Personally after using an x10 I can say that it's a really nice phone physically but it badly needs 2.1.

Exactly, that's not perpetual motion though, that's an automatic movement (using the movement of your wrist to generate energy. :p

price , camera , look + feel (admitedly some may prefer the looks of the desire)

admittedly missing 2.1/2.2 which really sucks though

The Desire is cheaper than the X10 AFAIK. Having held both today the Desire does feel like it is slightly better built but I think that is more down to the size/weight ratio than anything else.

Or tell us 10 tangible advantages of having it?

I asked first :p

Re: Perpetual thing. I dont see why they cant have that for a lot of portable electronics like MP3 players as well... People use them when running and that kind of swinging motion would yield a lot of free power.

Why does everyone have a hard on for sense? Never really found it that appealing.
I think the same :(

I had a htc with sense on and I liked it over winmo.

But since getting a android phone I think I'd rather use the android launcher & widgets than have htc sense.

Something as sexy as the Xperia X10 but with a slide out qwerty keypad, not this Xperia mini rubbish! I'd like some battery life too. Responsive camera too.

Something i can embed into my palm and not know it's there, it projects a 3D interface to the same point no matter where i move my hand.

HDMI port, better battery, Small projector would also be cool (even if its just for a keyboard).

Next phone will last longer, and have a HDMI port.

MMMmm tasty.

My contract ends at the end of July. Worth holding out for this?

The new Xperia? Certainly looks a big step up from the X10 at the moment.

Will be interesting to see if Sony can pull it off! ((ie. it not falling short in key areas etc)

If they can manage to include the camera abilities of the X10, or even add HD recording like on the Vivaz, aswell as the keypad, I'm sold.
