Valve has a surprise for us..

If it isn't Episode 3 I swear to god I will....

......be severely miffed or...something.

God damn it however angry I am that ep3 has been so long combing I find it almost impossible to be angry AT Valve for it.
 
New CS game, the beta is just a massive Valve distraction to make you think they wont do it.

Hopefully new Half Life game tho!! :D

Pretty much. That's what happens when you are starved of the things you love.

Seriously, if they show anything for Ep3 I'll be quite happy. Even if it is a measly 10 second teaser, it's a token. A sign that Valve are ready to start sharing. We all knew Ep3 must be in production, but is it time to start getting hyped?

I'm surprised that Blizzard didn't pick up IceFrog first. Can't wait for a new kind of DotA but seeing as Valve focuses on FPSs I'm wondering what's going to happen.
 
I remember seeing a roadmap for Value (dont know how official) and it read something like:
  • Portal 2
  • HL2:Ep3
  • New boxed set
  • Something else
  • New engine
  • HL3

You would imagine a new CSS with the new engine

I don't imagine seeing a new engine until 2012

Its unlikely a new CSS is going to be of any great importance to them. Look at CS and CSS, the split of players is huge and a new CS on a new engineprobably wouldn't matter much. Sure they might make 1 but i wouldn't exactly say its high priority.

Well i've been waiting several years for them to put achievements into HL2/Ep1. There were vague statements that they were working on it several years ago and its taken until now to get done. But can you honestly see them doing a major update of the engine for Ep3? Its about story not graphics and theres nothing wrong with the current graphics unless you're a stuck up idiot with a Cryengine complex. Sure they're outdated but far from unplayable. A major engine update will be HL3.
 
I very much doubt they'll be bringing out a new CSS. CSS is only just being ported over to the OB engine and there's nothing to expand on.

I honestly dont beleive that, with an engine thats been around for this long it doesnt take that long to make it.

I continue to wait patiently for the next episode to one of the best games I have ever played, they can take as long as they want within reason and as long as it doesnt dissapoint which I know it wont
 
Ah, Relentless81 must be a valve employee then. Or at least design computer games . . . .

They do need to get it out there! I am itching to get it. It will be on preorder at the earliest opportunity!

Honestly I have completely forgotten what happened in the HL episodes so if it is annouced I will have to play through them again..

I would rather them get on with Portal 2, 3, 4, 5 heck just cash in on it ! its a fantastic game.

I keep looking at the Black Mesa project (for those that don't know the HL 1 graphic remake thingy) But man that thing just never feels like it is ever going to be finished.
