Where would you live

for working/midlife then anywhere in British Columbia , Canada or for a weird option Detroit . retirement would have to be somewhere hot and cheap

only thing stopping me going is finishing this degree

which brings me onto my next point of what stopping YOU from moving to your dream location ?

Somewhere in the Northern Rockies (US/Can border preferably). Live like a hermit with no technology bar a CB radio incase I need help, awesome!

Well, other than finishing my Masters next year, the fact that I wanna go to USA so there is the whole immigration hoop to jump though :(

Hopefully once I graduate I can get a job with the EU/UK branch of a company with offices in USA, and then see if I can do an internal company move few years down the line
The goal is to be somewhere where I want to be before I'm 30 :)

I wanna move to New Zealand :/

I can never find any jobs there though. I like gotz a degreez and 5 yrz workz experience man! Gimmie a job like!!!!11!!

Can anyone find me decent NZ job sites? :)

It's either NZ or die alone in my parents spare bedroom at this rate lolz.

i think it would have to be divided by ages.

i'm mid twenties now and quite enjoy where i live (old street), however:

early 30's: New York
late 30's: San Francisco
40's Boulder, CO./Beaufort, SC.
50's: Uzes, France/Big house in Richmond, London

I might be buying a flat in Whitechapel tomorrow :(

What line of work are you in?

www.seek.co.nz is by far the most popular and used. There are many specialist recruiters but they also tend to use seek.

I have a degree in Environmental Earth Science, which I understand is on the urgently needed list.

I have 4 years work expoerience of environmental planning/ water resources management. I worked for the Environment Agency.

Are you an Australian or did you move out there?

Did you find work first?

I've lived a third of my life in this house in this town right in the middle of My Country, This is where I want to be.

I'm a Brit and the wife is a Kiwi. We moved over from Scotland last August and neither of us had jobs to go to but had found work within 4 weeks of arriving. Best move we ever made.

Sydney/Melbourne/Toronto/Vancouver/Chicago/San Diego/New York

Nothing particularly original, would just like to live and work in those cities

This may sound stupid but am I allowed to apply to NZ jobs while in the UK? Am I likely to get an interview?

Tough decision. I love the Welsh landscape and have lived with such beautiful panoramic views from almost every angle, but there's not much to live on and some people are (mainly chavvy bints + guys) are so backwards. I'm sure you get them everwhere, but I feel their everywhere here.

I love the sense of community here aswell, I don't think I could hack the isolationism in a city.
I haven't really looked into specifics, but there are places I'd love to live but not for the rest of my life. I wouldn't like to settle down now until I've traveled a decent percentage of this globe. But when I start hitting 30 odd and slow down maybe head off to Canada, Russia or Sweden. Sweden for raising kids though I reckon. Then when I begin getting old and repulsive I'll head back to the land of my fathers to grow my crops, feed my chickens and hopefuly have a wonderful view looking down a valley.

I honestly don't know, I like:

Area's with no annoying green/environmentalist **** moaners.
Car friendly places.
Low crime ( especially theft & vandalism).
An area with little young children.
Somewhere rural at most 45 minutes from a larger city.

Aside from that, I don't care, a 1 (bed)room place would do me provided I had a nice big garage and if it is a safe area.
