*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Ok, me again! Help!

At this stage:

When this has completed, your device should be at the 'recovery' screen. Select the 'wipe' option, then select the option to apply an update zip from sdcard, and select 'rootedupdate.zip'. This will take a little while, so go make a nice cup of tea. When the flash has finished, reboot, and you are DONE!

But I have a green screen which says: Choose wipe item

-Wipte data/factory reset
-Wipe cache
-Wipe Dalvik-cache
-Wipe SD:ext partitionj
-Wipe battery status
-Wipe rotate settings

So, err, what???

I cant see an option to update from card (even after wiping)

Ignore, no one told me to press the down volume button!

Give it a go and see.

First you have to root your Desire, follow this guide Pauls r5 rooting guide

After you have root, get back into recovery like its described in the guide under "Entering recovery in future"
Download the new bootscreen and put it into root of C:\

Open CMD (Start->Run->CMD)
Type into the window the following commands

Code:
adb shell mount /system
adb push C:\bootanimation.zip /system/media/
adb reboot

FYI: ADB is the Android Debug Bridge, you can get more information here Dev Android

@potter1984 thanks for your work here ;)

Ive found a much easier way.

Download Root Explorer off the Market place (£1.90 :( )

But you dowt have to go through the command prompts, just use root explorer, copy paste, reboot phone, job done

Just tried, works a treat.

So just move the apk file from /data/app to an app folder in the SD card?

Not sure about A2SD  Never tried that.

I mean, when your installing things like boot logos, which require you to boot phone into recovery mode and mess about with command prompts, you dont need to do all that if you use the app i listed.

P.S - Anyone know how many bluetooth devices i can pair and use? I'm thinking, bluetooth my phone to my car radio and blast out spotify while im also hooked up to a bluetooth headset?
