***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

What a crap mutation the latest one is, don't know when it started but i only just got round to trying it, took me 19 minutes and in total killed 30 infected (and avoid about 20) got 2 achievements from it but apart from that it's utter pants
 
that looks better than some of the original campaigns even, that video just made me see how much atmosphere the original game had.

Cant wait to try it

Even the alpha version looked pretty good - pretty sure a bunch of us tried it coop when the first release came out (with only a couple maps). I am downloading now - anyone for a game tonight?
 
That mountain level looks the bomb, may have to fire up left for dead for this one ?

I dunno, all this 'better than the original maps' just sounds like your typical overexaggeration. Jumped on it with bots on Advanced but failed on lvl2 thanks to absolutely terrible directions, god awful bot pathing and a stupid glitch where i got stuck in place. They were getting lost in the house constantly and eventually once i realised i was supposed to go back outside for the event i ended up getting stuck on some wreckage.

Could be nice to try with people though.
 
Lots of people complaining about getting stuck on the helicopter wreckage, hopefully will get fixed soon. Nice to see some support for the old game, even if it's 3rd party.

Quite a big campaign, so will have to leave it uploading overnight tonight. Will be on OcUK 1 and possibly 2 later on when they fix the crash bug etc...

OcUK 1 is currently public (gets more use that way), but once the custom map is on there I'll switch it to private for a week or two so ocukers have a chance to try the new map. :)

To be fair though, who the hell plays with bots? Other official maps have their share of glitches too, where you get stuck on a piece of paper on the floor.

I've played through IHM versus mode twice now and think its great. Better than the all other maps on both L4D1 & L4D2. It is huge though and very confusing the first few times due to the multiple directions you can take.

A huge thumbs up from me ;)
 
On versus - mountains is superb. The only problem is finding a game and a server :)

ps the l4d1 zombies are tough little ******** , gimme these tough guys in l4d2 please !
 
I'm pretty excited about trying out the 'i hate mountains' map. Rob-Rx7 just let me know about it so I'll give it a whirl today.

My only concerns are finding a server that will let me play this in multiplayer.

If you haven't taken a look at the map yet, here's an excellent youtube vid (plays in 720p) which spans through all four maps in this campaign.


PS: Just a quick question. I've noticed that many posters don't add images or embed videos, am I breaking rules by doing so? If I'm not, it just baffles me how easy it is to add these things and why you wouldn't.

OcUK 1 should now have it, though it will be public for most of the day now. I will drop it to private this evening for those ocukers who will want to play it. :)

And yes, the images and videos in posts are allowed, their dimensions are just limited that's all.
 
Tbh i have no idea how to embed youtube videos :(

Its always funny going back to L4D and realising just how utterly useless the Uzi is on it.
