Hi guys, finally work out i can only put a slim 240 rad at the top of my TJ07 case without too much modding, but need to know which make is better, here is the list i found.

1/ Alphacool Nexxxos Pro II Rev.2
2/Aquacomputer Airplex Pro240
3/MagiCool Slim dual 240
4/ BlackIce GTS 240

they all around 30mm thick, just the size for the TJ07 top, so if anyone have used them before, let me know how well they perform please, as i couldn't find any reviews regarding to those silm rads anywhere..

PS this is for the I7 980X cooling loop, may have to add a 120.1 if this don't work as well when OC the cpu to 4.2Ghz+..

Thank in Advance..
Regards
Tony

XSP RS series. I'll try to find the review for you but it outperforms the black ice - not sure about the others though I'm afraid.

Thank matey, but i don't think i can mount the RS240 to the TJ07 (top where the fans normally is) as i think its 35mm thick, i need a 240 rad that is 30mm or less...:(:(
but thank for the reply thus..:):)

there aren't any 30mm or less 120 rads which are good

and don't TJ07's have a huge space at the bottom to mount a rad?

Thought only the Black Ice 240 could fit in there, was when i had a TJ-07 before but quite a few new rads have come out since then!

Sorry guys, i should have mention that this dual rad is the second loop in my system for the cpu, i already got a triple rad for the cross-fire setup at the bottom of the case, that why i need to find somewhere else for the dual rad, the plan i had before was to have the triple and dual rads together at the bottom, but after some research on the subject, i found that it will make the dual rad very warm, so it won't work as well as it should, so was trying to mount a slim dual at the top of the case where the 2x120mm fans is, my new plan would be dual silm rad at the top + 1 single rad at one of the front drive bay, will that work with a OCed I7 980X? also can a loop have 1 silm and 1 thick normal size rad together? will that hammer the flow rate?

any help will be very grateful, as i try to sort this cpu loop out asap.
Thank all

but after some research on the subject, i found that it will make the dual rad very warm, so it won't work as well as it should

It will be slightly warmer but won't be the worst - rjkoneill ran a passive dual rad behind his triple (or quad - cant quite remember) without any issues. I also run a dual rad behind my quad for my second loop though with fans with no issues

so was trying to mount a slim dual at the top of the case where the 2x120mm fans is, my new plan would be dual silm rad at the top + 1 single rad at one of the front drive bay, will that work with a OCed I7 980X?

It will, but will be slight overkill - other issue you will have is HDD placement as you will lose the bottom chamber to your rad, next place to put them is the front drive bays.

also can a loop have 1 silm and 1 thick normal size rad together? will that hammer the flow rate?

The slim rad will make very little difference compared to a thick rad, will just hold less water and be less efficient at heat transfer - slim rads usually have more fins per inch so require more powerful fans to get the best out of them

i used a hwlabs blackice GT stealth 360 in the roof of a T07 (with a little mod) and found it more than capable of cooling my I7 plus chipset at 4.2Ghz

Be sure to get some nice high RPM/static pressure fans for them slim rads, that's where they begin to shine.

do you have any pics of your mods matey? a 360 will be great, just dont want too much messing about with the case...unless its a easy mod?

Will this be ok? Yate Loon 120 x 120 x 20mm Slim Case Fan 1350 RPM, 47.0 CFM, this is the highest RPM slimline fan i can find after a quick search...oh and yes i need slim fan as well as silm rad...:rolleyes:

You wont need a slimline fan, you would use any standard 120mm case fan, pref with high static pressure to get best out of the rad.

Fitting a double rad just means cutting the mesh to allow a rad to sit with the fans. a triple rad means cutting the case. Their are modding shops that will do this for you if you dont want to

Thank for the advice PaulyD, unless i cut a bit off the MB tray, i can't put any 25mm fan there, as i don't want to mess about with cutting and chopping the case, that why im going for a slim fan (been wasted enough times already, just want to start building the damn thing...hehe), also what do you mean by high static pressure? i though that to get those silm rad to work to there best is to have high RPM fan with high air flow, or am i wrong? sorry being a noob...

If you can find one, the Swiftech MCR series of radiators is my recommendation for slim rads.

Just got another two Akasa Viper fan's to go with the one of my H50, for my triple rad when l make up my mind which one l get lol.

Best fan's out there atm for > price, performance and noise.
