This, is the update that Left 4 Dead deserves.
Left 4 Dead is an amazing game. It got what it needed to get right perfect, and words simply can not describe the dedication some players have for the game. I personally know many people who will play through an expert campaign every night. One of the reasons I created this mod was to give those types of people something new to experience, even in the maps they have played a million times. I also always wanted the game to feel more like the amazing intro movie, and this mod is also partially an attempt to give the game even more atmosphere, and also more challenge, but still keeping the Left 4 Dead feel as much as possible.

Left 4 Dead Apocalypse Mod is designed to further enhance the Left 4 Dead experience, add new features without loosing the "feel" of the game, and also increase re-playability and encourage teamwork. It is a set of custom scripts, server plugins, and cvar change that combined help to accomplish the goals of the mod (see above). I personally feel this game and it's dedicated players deserve to have something new, and something that makes Left 4 Dead the game they always wish it was.

Realistic Lighting - Main feature

Dynamic Director - Main feature
-Includes dynamic paths & car alarms
No Glows (None!)
Increased Friendly Fire
Increased Weapon Recoil and 50% reduced ammo capacity
Survivor Crawling while incapacitated
Improved Tank, witch, and special infected
Significantly more mobs - director more adaptive with them
Increased gore
Mouse2 does no damage, only shoveback
Survivors can drop any items they are carrying (includes items, weapons, and pistols)
(Most "increased" things are relative to difficulty setting)
