I have no issue with top level politicians being well educated nor from what party they are.

An example of what I do take issue with is when Labour politicians launch attacks on ' toff ' Tories due to a priviledged background while conveniently forgetting the likes of Harriet Harman come from said priviledged backgrounds with private education and relations who are titled members of the establishment.

coming from a comprehensive and attending oxbridge aren't mutually exclusive

on the general subject of the OP - oxbridge attracts highly ambitious people who've worked their *** off to get there, highly ambitious people who are prepared to work their *** off are more likely to do well in politics

Not neccesarily but it stands to reason that, on balance, the majority of the most well educated people in this country will have been, so there should be no shock that they keep appearing at the top of society.

Oh I do, very much so. Most people have no idea quite how complicated things like running a country actually are.
