But we can't fight them on the beaches, they are covered in oil apparently![]()
Well, they do say "Make love, not war", and they're already lubed up.
Who are we not to oblige?
We could even watch one of those DVDs after that they send over to us! Oh wait we can't, they were wrong region for UK![]()

So because Obama no longer treats the UK like a cute little poodle and instead like any other ordinary ally, he's anti-British? Ok. He has every right to heavily criticize BP by the way. Every right. The Gulf of Mexico could take decades to fully recover from the Deepwater Horizon spill, and just because Obama wants the BP executives' heads on a silver platter, doesn't mean he's anti-British.
BP may employ 23000 Americans, but they have just taken hundreds of thousands of jobs out on the coastline. And yet you will call criticism of this anti-British. Don't be so naive.
So you refuse to accept the fact that it is indeed called British Petroleum but shorthanded to BP since the merger with Amoco Corporation? What about the fact that it's still a wholly British company based in London? You're just backpedalling because you've finally realized how ridiculous all this 'Obama hates Britain' diatribe is.
BP announced today that following an overwhelming vote of approval at its Annual General Meeting (AGM), the name of the parent company has been changed to BP p.l.c. with effect from today, Tuesday, 1 May 2001.
The resolution at the AGM on Thursday, 19 April was carried with a 98.25% vote in favour of the name change (12,145,436,700 votes cast for the resolution).
The parent company was previously called BP Amoco p.l.c. - the name given on 31 December 1998, the date of the merger between BP and Amoco.
Trading in the company's shares will continue as normal. The Reuters Instrument Code (RIC) on the London Stock Exchange remains BP.L. Other Stock Exchanges trading BP shares are in Germany, France, Switzerland and Japan.
The ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange remains BP and the company's ADS shares will continue to be listed and traded on the Pacific, Chicago and Toronto Stock Exchanges as well as New York.
‘Beyond petroleum’ sums up our brand in the most succinct and focused way possible. It’s both what we stand for and a practical description of what we do
We take concrete actions to push traditional boundaries and meet the challenges of our time in a sustainable way. ‘Beyond petroleum’ is shorthand for what we do:
* exploring, developing and producing more fossil fuel resources to meet growing demand
* manufacturing, processing and delivering better, more advanced products
* enabling the material transition to a lower carbon future
It doesn’t mean we’re abandoning oil and gas, getting out of hydrocarbons, or focusing only on alternative energy. It means we’re at the heart of all these areas, ensuring we can supply the world with energy now and far into the future.
Our advertising brings this to life with example
It's not like there isn't enough anti american sentiment any time they shoot up one of our jeeps/tanks/soldiers.
If an american oil company had raped the backside out of our coastline you can be sure our PM would be using the same tactics to mirror the outrage that the british public would have towards america/american company.
Who cares? I'm anti American.
Dame Helen Mirren said:My God, I have to say, with the soccer I know you were talking about earlier on - the football - I was so relieved it was a draw.
'Because you know if Britain (lol!) had beaten America, what with BP, which to my mind stands for bloody p***-poor '
