That is rigoddamndiculous

That's horrible.

Played the redtooth finals this weekend and came 204th/217. :D

Had fun in the casino though, took £25 for food (didn't realise soft drinks were free, drank way too much), stuck a fiver in the roulette machine not realising the wheel was right next to me, and ended up walking off with £140 profit. Made up for a shockingly awful weekend :)

Saturday Night.

Final Table of a small buy in tournament at the pub. 9 Minutes to go. I am well in the lead and on my way to £100 winnings.
The other remaining two players then do this:

Player one: You got anything decent?
Player two: Yeah not bad, you?
Player one: Yeah same, wanna just go for it, someone losses, someone win's? ALL IN
Player two: ALL IN
ME: sitting with bugger all, fold :(

Player 1: KK
Player 2: 55
5 comes out on the turn, trips takes it!!
I was gutted to go second and get £25 instead of £100 but still Player 1 got done!

Am on full tilt now. Up from 1000 to 5000 chips so far. I really dislike some peoples play style with it not being real money though. So many people just call or raise with nothing and push hands into stupid amounts of chips every time because if they lose they can just go refill their chips. I end up having to fold a reasonable hand because ive called them the max preflop and then get nothing on the flop and its getting tedious.

Your unfortunately going to get this sort of thing anywhere that offers 'play money'.

Only way to get rid of it, is to actually deposit some real money and see how you get on.

Invest a tenner and play 2NL. Worst case scenario, you lose £10. If you're content to play a solid game, you'll probably make a little profit though, there might be a few people that just donate money at those limits ;)

Got collusion ?

oh and the 2 players were a Gold Star and a Platinum Star players so it wasn't an accident IMO

Why are you playing with play money? It is entirely pointless...

If you really are a complete noob and just want to get used to playing poker etc.. perhaps download something like the iphone poker app and play against some computer opponents for a short period of time - you'll achieve the same goal.

then just deposit cash and play micro stakes, once you're winning there then move up a level etc... If you can't win at the lowest stakes then quit playing.

Yeah. 5k starting stack, half hour blinds for 1st 2 levels, 25/50 then 50/100 - after an HOUR break after the first hour it jumps to 100/200 and 15 minute levels.. great, thanks for that. Nobody told us the structure, how many got paid, how many made the finals... it was poorly organised. Also had one guy determined to "deal for the table" and managed to deal himself AA, AA, KK, TT 88 and 88, 6 hands out of 7.. he never shuffled them properly once.

Another thing that annoyed me, I had AJ on a A52 flop, I bet 400, he calls. Turn 2, check check. River 6, check.. he bets 400 I call. I ask "do you have a set AGAIN?".. he says yes so I mucked my AJ and he flipped over A6. Ok, it was the winner eventually, but a bit rude to declare a set and turn over top 2.

I cant see it being entirely pointless. It's definatly giving me some experience and practise if i try and imagine its real money.
Am tempted to deposit a tenner and give it a go though. Would probably stick to limit for a while though i seem to be better at that.
