Can you give me the link to where you got these from please jeffy?

They were the drivers that raven posted that got added to the first post.

I went back to the 10.5a's though, the 10.6 previews made my cards run about 10/15 degrees hotter than normal.

i figured that last night when my system bsod whilst installing 10.5 over 10.4 to do further testing.

honestly i have not owned a ati gfx card since approx 2000 which was a radeon 6600 vivo 128mb or something, ive been with 8800gt for the last 2 years and played on HDTV and COH no probs. (i only play COH these days, nothing else on PC)

then i get a hd5830 and suddenly my only game has issues all over it and ati drivers have me running work arounds such as creating custom resolutions such as 1920x1076 just so that i can play in 1080p without my screen underscanning to -8 of the actual size.. and then when engies or pios in COH use flamers the screen goes black, or if a nebelwerfer lands burning the earth the screen goes black apart from the block of flames:/ soooo annoying.

Use a DVI cable instead of HDMI, worked for me.

Catalyst underscan/overscan has always been an issue for me via HDMI. nVidia drivers are much better in this respect.

Running 10.5 happily on my 5770 except for some weird graphical artifacts in Fallout 3 sometimes.

The crossfire gains with the 10.6 drivers are awesome:

awesome on top of already being awesome, how can anyone say anything bad about crossfire 5770s anymore :p

two 5770s are performing like up to 25% faster than a single 5870, or 150% faster than a single 5770 in most games, the speed increases are now more than double over having a single card.

But still people will go and buy a 5850 for near the same money thinking crossfire is problematic and got tons of issues compared to a single card when in reality it doesn't. Well at least we will see these good gains :)

Going to retry these as last time i installed over the top and it kept my old ccc version and i think thats what made my temps rise.

Are these the drivers you are using?

Install over the top?

I wonder what the gains would be for my 5970 + 5870?

How can a Crossfire or SLI provide 150% increase in performance since logically the perfect scenario would be a 100% increase in performance?

From the reviews i have seen crossfire usually offers at least a 50% boost and can be as high as 90+% higher. Just look at the guru3d vga charts for last year done before the big driver optimisations and application profiles.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/vga-charts-december-2009/1
The 5770 vs 5770 crossfire results ( i used these as im familiar with them and had the numbers already) the lowest gain on the crossfire results is on crysis warhead 26fps vs 38fps which is a 46% boost the biggest gain is in Brothers in Arms 63fps vs 121fps a huge 92% leap. Overall the results pan out as

1 card totals 433fps =100%
2 cards tatal 781fps =180%

That is from the 9 games tested but is mirrored with most other games. I have yet to find a game that doesn't show very good gains with crossfire.

Guru3D is now regarded as a joke of a site by many people, this is the site that benches Crysis with gamer settings and high-end multi-GPU setups.

the 10.6 previews didnt improve my set up performance (2 x 5970 crossfire)
and made bad company 2 run weird, stuttering like a champ with a few blackouts (names of players can be screen onscreen - but everything else is black)

back to 10.5 I guess.

Gave these a go and got an extra 1k on my 5970:

If you have Eyefinity dont use these.

I cant even open a game with eyefinity, as soon as i try i get a Driver restart and then my PC locks up and restarts.

GOing back to Aprils 10.x 8.74 pack

these drivers are VERY good if you run a single monitor though, i saw gains of 2k in vantage :D
