Don't think so.

I set an England one off last night and it was huge! Couldn't believe how fast it went into the sky.

Ask anyone who lives in the country and they will tell you they hate them with a passion - cause all sorts of issues when they come back to earth.

two was sent off last night near me I have seen loads of em and im amazed there has not been any fires from em yet even more so in this hot dry week we have had.

what effect do they have regarding fires, opposed to fire works?.. they're fun, and get lots of people scared of UFO's, but there doesnt seem to be much after thought about where it lands, and what that can do.... They can travel a long long way by the way...

Best thing I've seen with them is a Roman candle attached to one - it being lit just as it lifts off.

The Roman candle looks like a waterfall as the lantern floats off into the sky

Fire works tend to have extinguished all its power or potential of starting a fire before it lands as there is normally no flame, spark etc when it does land.

These things have a long burning candle (yes yes I know if the candle goes out then it will normally land then not before so should not cause a fire)

But I have seen some floating low with a very strong flame going that must have been lit a long way away as I had watched it coming floating past trees.

Im not against em hehe I am just saying is all my kids love watching.

If you're setting them off near the coast, please give Falmouth Coastguard a ring and just let them know.
Saves an immense amount of time and money, as they can easily be falsely reported as flares and then coastguards get sent out.

They can be a real pain in the butt for farmers, having a metal mesh get tangled up after landing in your crops = :/

+1 to coastguard^

+1 to not enough tilt etc

What a crazy night out "me and my homies are gonna get liqueured up then launch some balloons"
