360 "slim" and natal to be called Kinect?

With the inclusion of wifi it gives them a nice excuse not to cut the price too much. I don't really care what it looks like I want to know the power consumption.

Not too sure about that 'slim' case. It's the right colour for me but something looks 'off'. In addition wtf did they rename Natal to something even more stupid?!

Been thinking of getting a 360 again recently just to go through and play the Gears of War games, might be getting this if it's legit :)

I remember some blog saying it would never work in a typical Japanese house - no room at all in them! :D

Well, our lounge is basically long and thin with furniture in.

So infront of the tv, for the first 4ft it's as wide as you need, but then, for the rest of the lounge as you go further from the TV it's probably 6ft wide (with sofa etc)....

Anyone know what the optimum distance from the Kinect is suppose to be (eg: 3ft? 10ft), and indeed if there is indeed somesort of space requirement?

I like the look of the Kinetic tai-chi/yoga experience. Just the thing I'll need after the blood boiling I get in Bad Company 2. :D

If they price this redesign well then I might well consider getting it. The reason I havent got an xbox so far is the fact you have to buy things like wifi dongles and decent sized hard drives at extortionate cost

Half the people on here moaned about the PS3 slim when it was revealed. Then a few days later promptly bought one.

That's very true, I remember that. I still like my fat version though:)

The difference here is the slim was exactly that

I don't think there is such a thing as a Playstation 3 slim. I think there was 'Playstation 3' and then 'PS3' I might be wrong but I can't find the word slim on the box or on the Sony site.

Correct, Sony have never marketed it at as the 'Slim', it was just a new model of PS3 which happened to be slimmer and lighter.

I doubt it will be cheap as such. I'd expect a sale price of £199.99.

Maybe there will be some good deals on the current/old Xbox 360 elite although that never really happened with the PS3. There was the odd OK deal but nothing to make you buy one.

Is there anywhere to see the Kinect video/event etc (was it some behind closed doors, pre-pre E3 conference thing)? Have people seen it or just read about it? I like the sound of the Star Wars thing, a lot.

really? looking at getting an xbox and people said wait until e3 as then the normal ones might come down in price. is this likely to happen in the next month or so?

Kinect? How do you even pronounce that? Sounds so stupid. I thought they wanted natal to appeal to the Wii market. Kinect doesn't really sound like a fun name.

funny how people react to stuff without thinking. microsoft are a very big and smart company, so they've put a lot of time and money into the thought of everything about the Kinect. don't go rushing into thinking it's rubbish before you've seen how they're going to market it.

i remember people dissing the Wii when it went from revolution to wii. going about how it sounds like what people do down the loo and other stupid things like that. now people are saying the Wii is the one to compete against

Think It is going to be on MTV on Tuesday, in America atleast

Ta, found info on engadget.com

Tonight we stood in a stadium wearing polyester ponchos (made in Canada) with LED shoulderpads. What did you do tonight? Below you'll find our account of tonight's "'Project Natal Experience,' imagined by Cirque du Soleil." As the event was a "technology free" show, we had to depend on our notes and exceptionally detailed (for a two-year-old) artistic sketches to convey the experience. If you'd actually like to see what we saw tonight in moving pictures, you'll have the chance on Tuesday, June 15, at 3:30PM on MTV and at 9PM on Nick at Nite, MTVu, MTV Hits, and Logo.

They have a sort of mini blog of what happened at that link too. Hopefully the same demos they showed at that event will be shown in the E3 conference later.
