360 "slim" and natal to be called Kinect?

In PC land, a 250GB hard disk is not worth £70, and a wireless N dongle is not worth £40 ;)

You poor 360 owners are being bled dry...

MY GOD! *monocle pops out* You mean Microsoft make money on their accessories to subsidise the costs of the console??

I like it a lot. But being a realist I'm going to stick with my Falcon Elite for now as (touch wood etc) it's never had a problem.

I may get one closer to Christmas though, better deals + Kinect bundled in might be a good hook for me. That's if all the previous problems are sorted and no new ones appear ofcourse!

Still not a bad price, you get ~£50 from selling your old one and you are getting a 250gig hard drive + wireless N (£70+ and £40+ by themselves) as well as a new (hopfully) more reliable, anglular and warranty covered console.

So using idiotic logic you are getting a new console for about £50 ;)

Hhhm might have to. I didn't pay a penny for this one (a friend of mines, which red ringed - he couldn't be bothered to take it home after uni so I fixed it. Works fine but I have never got round to using it lol).

This may sound a bit deceitful but what are the chances of lets say in a few months when all old stock of the current elite model ( which is being replaced by this new one ) are gone that I could bring my elite ( purchased April this year in a high street retailer ) back to said retailer because my elite suddenly " developed " a fault ....... that I would get a straight over replacement ( as they do currently ) for this new model ( same retail value )?

Question is has the HDMI been upgraded to 1.4 for proper 3D HDMI 720p support that Sony will offer or still limited to HDMI 1.2 offering only half resolution 3D like Sky will have?
Likely still 1.2 though....

Biggest issue for me is the power brick. PS3 is so simple to pick up and plug into different rooms/tvs.

looks pretty similar size and feature wise

cooling looks to be a lot better think they copied the ps3 with the big vent on the side and a large fan and have done away with the angled duct aproach

also bult in wireless and optical out are all ps3 features that were missing on 360s

to sum up it is probably how the original console should have been

MS representative has confirmed to engadget that once all remaining stock of the xbox 360 original have been sold then that's it, no more are being made.

Haha, my plan will work ........ just have to wait till my local high street retailer is sold out of their remaining stock after July 16th .
:p

I thought it looked good in the initial pics, but after looking at it from all angles on Joystiq, I'm quite disgusted by it :p and external power brick again?! Seriously

I was going to spooge on on a 360 slim, but now wondering if I should just cheap out and get an old Arcade version!!

well, after having a proper look at the unboxing and so on it'll probably be a purchase for me, i'll wait and see what bundles come out for it and then pick it up in a month or two, it's piano black which fits nicely with the rest of my tech (not that i dislike the matt on my current elite), and the HDD is a nice size, getting close to filling my 120gb after owning it for about a year and i need a new controller, everything else is moot for me, i don't need the wifi (router/modem in the same room) and i prefer the current 360's style.

what seems weird to me is that natal/kinect seems to be styled after the old 360 but presumably they'll want to push it with the new one? wonder what thought process went in to that?!

Girlfriend loved the kinectimals demo and also the dance central kinect game from Harmonix, so it seems that I will be purchasing Kinect when it comes out.

For me the ability to control the dashboard and the Star Wars / Forza for kinect plus whatever games they push in the future make it seem worthwhile for me.
