Yes, just set a blank mp3 as the alarm ringtone, alternatively just have a better alarm tone than the default jingle which you call stupid :p

I have a custom ****...eral ¬_¬

Anyone post which SetCPU settings they are using with the Sparta rom? My battery life seems poor...

cheers

Is there anyway to make the alarm silent so it just vibrates and not with a stupid jingle every morning?

If you adjust the volume as you adjust the time of alarms, notifications etc... it should hold that set volume when the alarm rings. Alternatively - install timeriffic and make it silent until 1 minute after your alarm.

I use the Kaloer Clock for a night stand clock when on charge overnight, this lets you set the volume for the alarm and vibrate only.

Lol for some reason t-mobile think I’m hot stuff now.
They just phoned me and said they can do the £5 a month I got yesterday for £3 a month If I wanted! I said instead what can I have with a Desire, ended up with 900 minutes unlimited texts 3gb FUP and free Desire for £22 a month! Bang Tidy :D

Go into the HTC messages app, press Menu.....Settings. Untick Received Notification.

You're a star :D

So simples

+1 :(

I am awaiting iphone 4 prices from networks but the ones from Apple HQ so far (£499 for 16GB 4.0, and £599 for 32GB 4.0) seem like they're going to be at least £200 on a £25 contract like what I want, which is prohibitive really.

I charged my phone all night, unplugged it at 6am. Watched an hour of videos on the train and 20 minutes of music... the battery is already on 53% :(

Is this normal?

Cell Standby 32%
Android System 29%
Phone idle 22%
Display 14%
Mediaserver 3%

Screen is a battery killer, I imagine full sound output, full brightness, cell, wifi all left on its quite possible.

I dont see how Android System is > than display though. Try Appkiller see if you can kill some stuff your not using in the background.

I've had my phone for four days now and my Android System has always shown much higher than display. Is this not normal? OK, for the first couple of days I was using the phone almost non-stop, but yesterday and today its only had what I would call average use.

At the moment, my battery use is as follows:

Cell Standby 23%
Wi-Fi 19%
Phone Idle 20%
Android 17%
Dialer 7%
Maps 6%
Display 5%
Voice Calls 3%

I use Taskpanel X to automatically kill off old tasks. So is this normal? Using vanilla Android 2.1

hmmm with 2.2 hopefully due soon i wonder how long Orange, if they ever do release an update, or will it still update from google ota rather than from Orange?
