i hate it when im a medic, i die and someone nicks my stuff to defib me and i get their n00b stuff
Lets face it though, the game is crap really. Its nothing but gustav spam, teams of medics and camping noobs afraid to move for fear of their precious k\d ratio being negatively affected.
Some really strange ideas went into this game and its the worse for it. Just have to look at the massive deluge of empty and near empty servers to realise interest in this has dropped massively, and all dice's patch delays are doing is ensuring its swift death
That's just a little over exaggerated isn't it. I've had plenty of no Gustav based spam games.
And anyway, if there is, think of some tactics that avoid them, and then knife/shoot them proper.

er tbh you clearly suck at it/ have only played with people who suck at it. its all squad based. if you dont play with a squad its pretty average. if you play with a squad its a completley different game.
if you dont wanna play with a squad go back to mw2.
i play on a few servers where you have to wait for a spot at any time of day so i wouldnt say the game is dying
by the by has anyone got either veteran or gunclub.ea to work? neither of them accept my ea password
You sound a bit like I did when I went from UT2004 MP to CS:S ( a while back 
), I couldn't understand why I was so shockingly bad. Turns out my "run around like a loon" approach was excellent for UT but no so much for CS:S
Tips id give you for BC2....
1. Keep moving , even if your not going anywhere ( randomly forward, back, left, right etc )
2. Dont spray, its usually always better to tap the mouse even with auto weapons. (As you learn the weapons more you will have a better idea of whats best for what)
3. Pick up dead folks kits (as has been mentioned)
4. Spot (Default Q) everything and get into a squad that works well. This is a team based game so try a few servers and squads until you get the idea.
5. Change your knife button to a spare mouse button ( Forward,Back. The satisfaction of knifing someone helps with tip # 7 )
6. Dont be scared to use the "Noob Weapons" (Gary Gustav, 40mm Grenade again helps with #7)
7. Have a sense of humour. The game will make you laugh,cry,swear,kick the cat/wife/dog/child, turn off you pc in rage screaming "im never playing that **** again". There are issues with hit reg, lag, patches, noob squad members etc
BUT, with all that said and I think I can speak for a few of us, the game is great fun and definatley a step in the right direction as far as MP FPS are concerned.

@ Squarkster: This evening on BDS when you somehow took my tags I had a crash to desktop following the lag (Just in case you thought I may have had a rage quit moment )

dont use gustav tho. its a horrible weapon and kills the game

No? I think you might want to check the official forums about teams of medics and gustav spam. Theyre clearly commojn enough issues that theres been tons of threads about them. Also the fact that thers vast masses of empty or near empty servers suggests people are fed up with the game.
The game can be fun on the right servers i suppose but theyre few and far between.

I went back on about 7pm and lasted a round before the lag hit again. As I said earlier my screen freezes for 3-15 secs then returns back. I have played a few hours tonight on different servers without a hitch.Its strange as Ive played on the BDS for weeks without an issue.

Question - Can you get the CG to lock onto a tracing dart? It never seems to work for me...
If the tracing dart is shot onto a vehicle or gun emplacement yes. Scope up the rocket launcher, aim it at the red square reticule for 2-3 seconds until the box becomes solid and locks on, then fire at will.
Couple of things;
Firstly, Server has been rebooted this morning, would be interested as to what its like for you today. If its still bad I might ask you to run WinMTR whilst your connected and send me the logs, it might be a hop on your route to the server which is bad.
Secondly, over night admin is still posing an issue for us, despite having a few US members they aren't always on to police it, I appreciate that it does get quite bad in there when we/I am tucked up in bed. Do any of you play regularly to the early hours ? as we are looking to expand our night shift admin team.

you say that, but its usually the yanks that cause all the grief
Stick it out Housey mate. It's frustrating at first because everyone else has better weapons, unlocks, kits etc than you.
Easiest way to level up is to stick at being medic for a while and dropping med packs to your squad, then if one dies and you don't have the defib yet nick their stuff and go on the rampage!
If you take a look at your stats on something like the bfbc2 stats website you will see where you are near getting stars for your weapons or badges. Concentrate on those areas where you are the nearest to that award and you will level up quite quick.
When you get to high 20's levels it takes an absolute age to level up with around 112000 points required to the next level
That can get boring so I mix it up by going for knive tags and road rage kills.
