If this is what future gaming is then I say NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they do capture some more userbase, it ensures future support for the console.. Expensive 'flops' may mean no Nextbox..

MS (and Sony) are reeling from huge losses this generation, the return on investment has probably been at an all time low..

What's wrong with me playing some side by side 'fun' games with my 4/6 year old, I used to use the Wi i(But it's broken at the moment), if I want to replace the Wii for the pure family fun, Kinetic seems to serve that purpose.. Just becuase I can't play Halo by mimicking the position of a gun with my 'wands' won't really bother me.. Being able to control my Xbox from command/gestures, well kind of cool for 5 mins.. I'm not upset by Kinetic, if it does well, it'll find more useful ways in to more games I'm sure..

Casual gamers already own Wii's so I don't see how Microsoft are going to tempt them out of their £200 for a console/accessory that does the same thing. I know technically it does it better but people like that don't care.

Did you not see the Nintendo Conference?, the myth that Wii sales where flagging (i.e. Market Saturation) was debunked with the best December 2009 sales ever .. Unless 'hardcore/serious' whatever you call them gamers are now buying Wii's, then there must be plenty market left.. Although I agree it seems incredulous that the Wii market isn't saturated beyond belief..

I can say that if I wanted something to appeal to 4/6/60 year olds, and wanted some normal gaming inbetween, Kinetic has the 'get off the couch' family fun aspect nailed with plenty of normal games for those that want it.

Lets wait and see, as long as your games are still being developed and you can play them as you where, why sweat over it..?

If you feel it should be all about the mythical serious gamer who needs motion control, Sony have positioned themselves impeccably in this market..

soo MS have kinect and you flail around and hopefully it wont flop and then sony have a wiimote but with a big ******* on the end of it. People are bound to buy both. And to reply to the post above, try gametrailers forum for THE most miserable and fanboyish sods :P

The Child of Eden (Rez 2) Kinect trailer is full of win though:

You seriously had my hopes up there!!

Went and found some gameplay of it. Is it just me or is there serious input lag?

And will it only be standing with one hand in a Nazi salute?? :(

Read the eurogamer article above, it's obvious that it's not instant though when watching the demonstrations.

I know, I think people are in for some disappointment accross the board if latency is the new pixel peeping..

Reading that Eurogamer article, even if motion games have the same latency as normal 30fps shooters, @ 100-200ms, you are just going to really notice it more with motion controls..

The TW Golf demo had a massive delay in it too and that was 'move' which we know is better in hardware terms, but clearly the game itself suffers the normal industry standard lag for games.. Even the Zelda demo had noticeable lag..

I think you have to just play the game and stop worrying, as the Eurogamer article mentions, your body reacts slowly, so you'll have to anticipate and time your movements accordingly anyway..

I'm not sure how much we can judge latency based on E3 demos running on giant projectors that are presumably fed by equipment that is a different room, etc.

Not saying there won't be lag, but I wouldn't necessarily read too much into the apparent latency in a giant projected screen demo.

The lag was judged from an xbox connected to the tv via hdmi right below it. That's pretty conclusive.

Just seen the RRP is £129.99... Seriously?

Thinking about it, it is not that expensive as that is all you need to buy, no matter how many players you need. (I assume this supports 4 players on screen at once as I saw the raft game demo had 2 adults and 1 child playing at once).

If you tallied up the cost of 4 people playing Wii or Move (i.e. the peripheral cost) it would be the same, or more.

It hasn't been announced yet, so where on earth did you get that from?

I know some shops making pre-order pricing guesses, but MS officially said pricing will be revealed much later on.

I guess with all the forum chatter about high pricing, maybe they are seeing what they can get away with, £129 is a rip off.. £99 would be top end for me, £50-£70 would be a no-brainer..

I'm hoping your £129.99 is just a shops 'guess'.. I can buy a whole console for that!

True, but when you can see the screen the dude is playing on as well as the projector screen, then it is pretty conclusive :p

I don't get what's so wrong with that, it looks no worse than waggling your arms with a Wii mote. Surely this is just all the immature fanboys getting in a huff and voicing there concerns (in bad ways) just like they did with the Wii before it outsold the PS3 2:1 and had some good motion control games. Not enough to give it a good perception to all the hardcore but enough to be good.
Seriously what is it with people hating this but liking Sony move? Move is a waste of money, it's cost about £100 for the charger, both parts of the controller and the eye toy and I could make stupid jokes about how you play harry potter like games with a glowing ***** and pretend you only want it for Killzone or whatever which is an awful expensive £100 for a simple alternate control method. But then what's the point? People who want it will get it all the same but Natal is atleast different and not a copy coming in 4 years too late, too expensive and with nothing new. Sony's track record is hardly anything to be pleased about either, eye toy was chocked full of crap and sixaxis was a wasted effort with the amount of support it got. Simply put I don't trust Sony to do much more than tack on controls to first party games I don't even want to waste the money to play with the move. Besides since I also saw lag on the tiger woods game of the move I am definitely not impressed, it's just a wii mote, it comes in at the same price with the same lag problems only you need an eye toy too.
Natal is different, I'm not saying it's brilliant or anything but it's not like I'm paying for an alternate control scheme, the dance game, forza's head tracking stuff and games that will eventually make full use of it won't be possible elsewhere.

I only own an xbox yet you're accusing me of being a fanboy because I don't like Kinect?

I wasn't talking to you alone so not all my comment is related to you, hence why I didn't just quote you and talk to you alone. It just seems to me most people are dumb about the issue, liking the Wii and Sony's waggle but not MS's when it's not that far driven away. The games will decide there quality yet people are basing it off initial impressions and PR which is pretty **** poor before we even see any good games for it.
Like I said what's appealing about a £100 alternate control scheme? Until they show something good neither of them are good and pre judging what Kinect is capable of is pretty strange to say they have no real idea of what the devs working with MS and MS are actually going to try and do.

Wait a sec, you are calling people fanboys & dumb for criticising Kinect and then you go and criticise and pre-judge Move in the same paragraph. Did that actually make sense in your head or did you forget to read through your post? You contradicted yourself to the point where it is painful to read.

E3 provided a lot of demonstration material of both and so people are basing an opinion on what they saw. How is that dumb? Your post clearly makes me wonder who actually is the fanboy.
