360 "slim" and natal to be called Kinect?

wow didn't know you could do this  how is it achieved?

Assuming it has an HDD, put the game into the drive, then go back to the Dashboard and press Y on the 'Play Game' screen. Should give you a list of options, one of which is to install the game. Takes a few minutes.

You need the disc in the drive even when the game is installed, but it won't actually read the disc except to check it's there when starting the game (for obvious reasons), so it's both far quicker to load and far quieter.

from what i've read they all can be, but the new one will have the accessory needed already installed, where as previous xbox's will need to buy the additional piece to make it work.

I think the new one has a additional modified USB port - if you have origional xbox, you need to plug into standard usb and power the add on.

I'm pretty annoyed as I only just got a new 360 last month, luckily my friend works in Gamestation so I'll be able to do something about this.

Only irritated because I want the built in wireless, been wanting that for ages so I could move my 360 off my TV stand (cable only reaches that far) but refused to pay £45+ just for wireless.

If I wanted to swap my old 360 for this one how would I go about transferring the data across since the data transfer kit needs the new hard drive to be not attached the machine?

Or is it a case of just buying the 360 slim plus new transfer cable then trading the old 360 in?

You could just re-download DLC, and put your profile/game saves on a USB stick to move across.

Easier than using the kit/lead.

Fair enough then, might do that then. Means I have a premium console with a 60gb hd attached plus a spare 20gb to trade in at the time.

Watch out though, some game saves will refuse to transfer to/from other memory devices unless you use the transfer kit. Forza 2 springs to mind as one example of this.

Lots of places showing the new 360 for preorder as the same price as an elite now. £199 :)

Not too bad at all, will be picking one of these up. So fed up of my 20GB HDD, this seems like a no brainer really, Wireless N more USB's, runs silently and looks the business!

And how much will Kinect cost on top of that?

Does anyone else think it is funny that the PS3 went from touch panels for buttons in the fat PS3, to physical buttons on the PS3 Slim, and MS have went from buttons, to touch panels? lol

Also the PS3 went from glossy to matte and the Xbox has gone from matte to glossy. I have the fat PS3 so one of these would match:D it's just that I don't need one but have a feeling I might end up with one anyway:p

I suppose physical are cheaper, so to cut the manufacturing cost of the PS3 they probably went physical, though as I understand it MS make a profit on the console so they can probably get away with it. Touch panels are easier to break and harder to fix than good old fashioned clicky buttons though.

What a surprise this one didn't turn out to be genuine:o:p
