on another note not a fan of the white and black mixture on that phone above. i thought about getting a white housing myself but glad i didnt now that i know you cant change the screen surround to white

X10 will get update to enable full HDfull HD Video recordingVideo recording by Q3 and also DLNA wireless sharing by Q4 2010

Huh? So are they splitting the update? Or was DLNA wireless sharing not originally included (btw - what is this?)? Full HD? I always thought it was 720p?

Previously on this blog we communicated that we will update our 2010 Xperia phones (Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro) to Android OS 2.1 in Q4. We are today happy to confirm that all of these phones will now get the update to Android 2.1 from the latter part of Q3 and onwards (timing will vary from market to market, some will be in Q4. Looks like they are splitting it and giving us 2.1 sooner and keeping DLNA, Timescape/Mediascape updates to the Q4 release.

Hopefully, cant wait for 2.1. Once we get Gingerbread things will be a lot easier

That full HD thing must be a typo, I wasn't even aware any phone could do 1080p

Just had to advise someone on a 300min (£15 a month for 24 months minus £50 TCB minus potential £37.50 redemption cashback) contract, and got them the x10 mini. I think they'll be impressed. The only contender was the htc wildfire which is taking an age to release.

From what I've seen, the UI is so much better than my X10. Hopefully these will be implemented in the q4 update.

Has anybody used tvcatchup yet on the x10?

If so, how are you finding it? What browser are you using?

I'm playing it now and I can't make the picture out and the sounds keeps skipping!!

I didn't have a problem when I tried it yesterday on the default browser.

Try using skyfire and the iplayer site instead.

What network are you on? I've tried it over Vodafone and i have had no joy. Yet at home on WiFi it works flawlessly

Vodafone block it I believe. There is a thread on their forums.

I think it isn't that bad of a move. I can see a lot of people running up massive charges this month unknowingly otherwise.

My 500MB orange bundle is used up without any video streaming, so I don't even bother.

Yeh I heard that Vodafone have blocked it. Fortunately i'm on Orange!

I've tried it on the standard and dolphin browsers. I think it might be the wireless at work, i'll try it again when I get home!

TVCatchup is fine on Orange with the standard browser. Somebody did mention IPLAYER, but that isn't available (officially) yet.
