I'v been looking at HDD speeds and what wondering, is that actually what you get? Reason being on mine using HD Tune Pro, and says im getting around 100mb/s, but when transferring files I get max around 50mb/s. Also does the write speed advertised actually make a noticeable difference, for e.g People say the F3 is fast but would I be able to tell?

Real world use is obviously going to be different to synthetic benchmarks as they go through the disk sequentially and you're using different areas and if files are fragmented speeds can be affected further still. Remember when copying within a disk speeds are terrible also because the drive has to both read and write.

Faster drives are noticeable to a point for transfer rates. You can't really tell the difference for normal use without lots of large operations above a certain point, but access times (from HDD to SSD) make a massive difference.
