Eminem - Recovery

I've just fully listened through and it is first class. Definitely a return to form that I didn't see coming!!

He's had a lot to cope with - it's not surprising he slipped a little. Give him props though, he's been at the top of the game for over a decade.

Just watched him perform 'Love the way you lie' on YouTube - I have goosebumps - classic Em

*Edit* What an amazing track - amazing. It needs to be released as a single ASAP - instant No.1

Never too keen on Eminem personally, more into Sway and Akala, on the US side of things tend I tend to favour the youtube guys like Wax, Dumbfoundead etc. but for a commercial artist to come out in a single and admit he put out a crap album gets my respect.

I know what you mean shah, his "deep and meaningful" before tended to just be him whining about his life in detroit and the people in his life so that he had a backstory so "hard" that people wouldn't laugh at him for being white.

Same here. Just out of interest, for those of you who really like him, just how highly do you rate him? Best rapper?

Too many different styles and variants of rap/hip-hop music to just put him as best rapper. However from a lyrical and word-play point of view, there is nobody even close.

Interesting you say that. Most of these rappers don't care about intelligent lyrics and wordplay, but if we're counting his whole career so far, imo there's no way he's been consistent enough to be the best lyrically. Am immense talent, no doubt tho.

Only asked the question because the vast majority of people I know who really like him either say that hands down he's the greatest, or that he's the only rapper they like.

yeah this. it sounded too comical before, but Not Afraid is believable

Eminem is no where near being close to the best rapper. There are loads of better lyricists out there who give more care and attention to detail to language than he does.

only listened to a few tracks so far, but its great to hear him back on form..

edit more listening, back on form is an understatement..!!!
