Hello all

I noticed since installing my Intel 80GB X25-M that left for dead 2 versus online stutters for around 5 seconds then returns to normal. The stuttering is very characteristic, the screen freezes and the sound loops. This has happened 3 times so far, usually when the game is getting a bit insane. Its not my net connection as that is always green with a low ping. Not sure if it might be my gpu, but I never had this kind of stuttering when I was using my samsung F3 as my os disk.

Has anyone heard of/experienced this happening before?

i would do other tests aswell as i had stuttering in L4D2 it took me while to solve it too and if i remember correctly it had nothing to do with my HDD.
I cant really remember what i did to solve it but i know i messed around with the multicore settings and changed it to make the game run on single core.

Also i take it you have Trim running on your SSD,no doubt you have.

Thanks for the reply. I have been reading the links on that search of yours and it seems to be a common multicore issue. I turned off multicore rendering in game but I still had a stutter, although it was only for 2 seconds, much shorter then usual.

a lot of people are saying its the nvidia drivers at fault I'm currently using version 197.45. Yeah TRIM is enabled I have also turned of superfetch, disabled defrag etc.

Try the latest 256 nvdia drivers massive improvements overall in most games.

Also one thing you can try disable vsync Triple buffering in the game

Download rivatuner use the D3D overider utilty and force vsync and triple buffering.

Ive found this solves some stuttering on some older games not sure if it works with Direct X games though.

If that dosent solve it then im sure i also messed around with triple buffering and vsync in the game option cant exactly remember what combination i altered though.
