*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

If I am on O2 but out of contract I can just wander down to O2 on Thursday and upgrade? I don't need a PAC code if I am staying on the same network?

I've decided I'm going to go for the £25/mo Vodafone contract (16gb black iPhone 4). Not a great package in terms of calls and texts, but I don't use more than 75 minutes or 250 texts in a month so I don't need to get unlimited texts or whatever. And it'll be a nice change every month to see just £25 leave my account instead of £35.

But surely if they have me in a contract that states I get unlimited data then it should stay that way until the contract ends..

500Mb doesn't seen a lot tbh..

My lass watches at least an hour of TV catchup/iplayer everyday... and I'm always beasting facebook/email..

If my contract can run for a little while longer then I'll just wait and see what the plans have for bolt ons etc..

I use the internet on my (now dead) BlackBerry all the time (although not for streaming TV/music) and when I went onto my online vodafone account to tally up how much data I normally use it has never exceeded 100Mb a month. Unless you do use websites like iPlayer or TV catchup the chances are you're not going to use anywhere near 500Mb.

Just got my microsim from O2, phoned 3 shops 2 had no idea what I was on about and the last one had loads!! O2 in Bournemouth if anyone is interested!

Nice, did they just hand it over or did you need to show you already have a contract with them or sign up to iPhone Simplicity?

I have a 3g on O2 at the moment, does anyone know if I swap to a microsim will they change the tariff I am on automatically to the new one which has the 1gb cap (I'd rather have actual unlimited)? Pondering taking some scissors to my existing sim in the hope they'll not notice!

If you have a reservation does it mean they keep it for you the whole day, as from what I am reading it is first come first serve (check the small print on reservation email)

I think that just means that in the event that Apple let too many people make reservations then it will be first come first served. But provided there are no problems with stocking, then you should be entitled to buy an iPhone up until closing time.

This will be my first Apple launch queue, I'm kind of excited in a masochistic way. I think I'll bring along a picnic in case I'm in the queue for hours.

I'll also bring cookies in case I need to make friends with people in the queue so they can save my place if I need to pee.

No they didn't even ask to check they just gave it to me and I walked out. Now I have started the transfer from my old sim to the new microsim using this page: http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

Apparently it takes an hour or so but up to 24 hours then on thursday I can just pop the microsim straight in the iphone 4 and off we go!

EDIT:

It only too 5 minutes to transfer over to the new micro sim, now that's quick!

Just FYI guys, popped into my local Orange store today after ringing them the other day. Basically I signed my contract and paid the handset cost today, and I can pop in on Thursday after work to pick it up. :)

Might be worth asking if your local one is doing the same.
