**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Havent ordered it yet, was going to get the collectors edition but dont think I will anymore as a. I looks like its worth about £10 more than the normal version and b. I dont have a job anymore.

Fantastic game but as already said, bnet really does need sorting out

*Why isnt this in the main SC2 thread?*

What I'm considering is not touching the SP until I have all three. If the MP wasn't as addictive as it is (currently suffering beta withdrawals :(), I probably wouldn't be able to hold off for so long. But I've waited over a decade for SC2 and I've no doubt got plenty of other games to buy in the coming years, so it'll be fine :)

Same, but they won't be getting more than £20 out of me if it's only for a third of a game.

If I can't find it for that I won't be buying it. Activision can go do one.

+1

£35 is disgraceful IMO, seeing that it only has 1 campaign, and not all 3. Anyone who buys each on release will be paying over £100 for all 3.

Are the campaigns of each race much longer than normal? I assume they must be to warrant charging that much.

Do these companies deliberately want their games pirated? They complain that piracy is rife in PC gaming, then Blizzard think it's a good idea to charge £35 for 1 campaign, then £35 for the next, and same again for the 3rd. Buying the 1st game will give the user online play with all 3 races. £70 to play the other campaigns is not exactly persuading people to buy the games instead of pirate them. Sure, there will be people who will always pirate games, even if they were cheap, but there are plenty who would buy the game if it was reasonable price. I know people who will pirate the 2nd and 3rd games because of the cost.

Surely there is a better way to go about it. Maybe charge less for the game, than have DLC extra campaign missions for each game. At least there is incentive to buy the games.

Would like to hear people justify buying the collectors edition :D

I pre-ordered the CE, my justification.

Haha that's me too :)

In terms of the price, I'm justifying stumping up the (probably £200, by the time all 3 parts are released) by never buying another Call of Duty game. Made so much easier by the utter pos MW2 was.

There's a great article in this month's edge magazine, about the Korean Pro SC scene and SC2.

Worth reading for us fans :D
