**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Yea the peripherals look pretty naf. Dunno who would buy them apart from some seriously die hard fans! I think there will be a lot of support for SC2 once it is out. Will be interesting to see how the korean pro circuit develops over the next few years! Some serious cash over there.

Well the single player should occupy most people enough to justify the purchase price. It's whether or not you get sucked into the multi that will determine whether it's a mental game, or just a damn good one.

I think if there's enough of us around here that are into it, that should make for a good gaming group. Some people just aren't that good at 1v1, and having a good friends list makes 2v2, 3v3 melee VERY fun.

In SC1 that's how I got most of my enjoyment.

On another point, I just bought a SteelSeries Xai, as my trusty (and much beloved) MX518 is finally starting to show signs of its age. Has anyone played RTSs with it, what do they think? Worst case, if I don't get on with it, I'll buy another 518.

Just curious too, what sort of ranking did people get up to before the beta's close?

I managed to break platinum just before the beta went down, but fairly low down (and not really moving much). At gold level I was always top 5 in my division.

was in platinum before they opened up the new diamond league, then was in diamond since then. normally in top 10.

Awesome, I started off with Patch 8, I think, and I'm old so I can't play like 10 hrs a day like with SC1. But I found you could transfer most of your SC1 skills to SC2.

When the beta returns we'll have to play. I win about 1/4 against diamond level players.

that does sound tempting, i loved skirmish team allainces with c and c, dont know how similar this is to c and c, but i loved red alert 2, and even c and c 3, hope gameplay is similar but better

yeah i found that too, its basicalyl the same with a few new units/mechanics and nicer looking :)

Im always up for some games, just let me know.. have sc1/bw too if you wanna game on that, although havn't played it in a looong time!
