*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

my prob is , i have a blackberry at 12 pounds per month and iphone at 30 quid a month (iphone simplicty 900 mins)

To merge it to one works out at the 40/45 price point...but 18 or 24makes a big diff

i bimble on my iphone simplicty up and down a lot.

i bought a 3gs half way through my 3g contract and i was annoyed i did it due to the slight changes, i dont want to repeat a 500 quid mistake again.

The organisation I work for use only orange, today I received my one and only email from our account manager regarding iphone4. It quite simply said that if we wanted any this to let him know today else we would not get any as the amount getting from apple is tiny. I wish we could order for personal use through work

Very annoyed!

Called o2 Walsall this morning about the iphone 4 micro sim and they said yeh no problem just bring your apple confirmation as we can start giving them out today. Went to the store and the assistant looked a bit confused, went into the back to check with the guy i spoke to on the phone and then gave me a micro sim. Got back to the car park and found out it was an ipad sim  Called them back while in the car and said you gave me the wrong sim so they said come back in and we'll sort it all out. So i went back only to discover they never had any iphone 4 sims in the first place!

They said come back in on the 24th. Not pleased at all :(

EDIT: Called o2 West Bromwich and they expect they'll get micro sims only on the 24th as well. Haven't got them in stock as yet. Is it just me that has reject o2 stores nearby as everyone else seems to be getting their sims lol

Why can't you just cut down your current sim, and what an earth is an iPad sim? Is it data only or something?

I woke up today to find that O2 had posted me a micro sim in the post! Very unexpected as I was just about to get ready to go to my local O2 branch.

Cutting will be a last resort and as far as i know the ipad sims are data only. I think someone on here tried to transfer their mobile details over to an ipad sim and it didn't work.

just checked my online bank, and i seem to have an extra £599 in my account. it was showing that £599 had been taken out and now it fully available with nothing showing as debited from apple

confused

This is good to hear. I was pondering an iPhone 4 but the microsim made me think I'd have to take a pair of scissors to mine.

You first need to understand how bank authorisations work.

If you have a debit card, apple request an authorisation code from your bank, your bank will then put aside the ammount the authorisation was for. This is moved out of your available balance, but is still in the account.

If the authorisation code is not used within 2-3 days, the funds are then released into your account.

Thats what's happened today. How the bank deals with the charge come dispatch if you no longer have that money is then up to the bank. Some banks will request a new authorisation code, others will let it through and just let it put you overdrawn, its down to the bank. But the practice of moving it out of your available balance and then returning it when its not used is standard.

I asked this a few pages back - Apparently, it showed as if it was taken originally because Apple need to make sure you have the moola available in your account - they will only take the money out once they ship it :)

Anyone got the link to the 15quid a month / 12month deal with O2 (unlimited data) ? I'm sure I've seen it in this post but cant find it. (sim only simplicity thing I think)
