Just got an email from Apple:

Same here! :)

Good news about the seperate queue!

Bad news ... That queue is going to go down very very slowly ;-)

Pah! Whilst you are all sitting around in lines getting bored I'll be sipping tea at home waiting for the delivery man.

That's assuming Apple ship tomorrow on next day delivery - would be a shambles if they penalised online pre-orders with after release day deliveries!

my baby is waiting for me too :D

Pick-up Date and Time
24 June from 8 am
Please note that your reservation will be held until close of business on 24 June.

Not by me if I can help it, "gimme my unlocked phone" hand over credit card, leave building.

Thats what I'm hoping anyway. hopefully!

Exactly same here. I'm not gonna be impressed if people like myself (and you) have to wait in the same queue as those who are renewing contracts. Makes sense to have two queues (as has been mentioned).

Sod that!!!

People can do it themselves... Lets get the que moving so people aren't stood outside all day :p

Edit... People buying the phone outright should have a separate que... hell you only need 1 person on the till banging the phones through, sell more that way :p

Yup just got a reminder about picking up my reservation even though i cancelled it lol. Banking on my preorder going through ok instead and receiving it thursday or friday. Don't fancy waiting in a massive queue with people faffing about with contracts, etc. I only want the phone!

Hopefully anyone who needs assistance with contacts etc will be directed to a different team/part of the store :).

Just spoke to O2 retentions to get my PAC sorted out. The bloke reckons I never use more than 250MB a month data, which I'm surprised about. I know I've used more than that already this month, but that might be down to streaming the world cup....

Going by the 3G launch, it's unlikely to be like that.

You qued for ages, then got to an area where it was a seated que. You then waited until one of the advisers was free who then took you to their Mac where they then went through everything with you, but also tried to sell you extras also.

I doubt they would change very much from that process, as the Apple Store is all about selling 'help and knowledge and expertise' rather than just being about selling goods. So while not everyone will be there renewing a contract or taking a new one out, they will still want to help people switch over to the new phone and most importantly not want to miss out on the opportunity to sell them Mobile Me and iPhone accessories.

I'd also say the que for pre-orders and non-preorders is a bit of a non-starter, because most people going will have pre-ordered in this case.

Everyone seems to have all there orders etc sorted!

I'm just hoping to nip into town for 8:30-9:00am and grab one direct from Vodafone/Carphone Warehouse, think the two stores are about two shops away from each other so easy to see the queue sizes (if there will be one round here..)
