So that means every single (non essential) good in the country is going to be 2.5% more expensive.
Which is about the same as having a 2.5% pay cut.
If you GOT a 2.5% paycut, you'd be gutted. But 2.5% VAT increase? That's cool?

No it isnt. If every single penny of your pay went on "non essential" goods then yes that would be a fair comparison, but since you dont spend your entire paycheck on chocolate biscuits put your mis informed rant back in your pocket please
