The Budget

So that means every single (non essential) good in the country is going to be 2.5% more expensive.

Which is about the same as having a 2.5% pay cut.

If you GOT a 2.5% paycut, you'd be gutted. But 2.5% VAT increase? That's cool?

Hmm ..

No it isnt. If every single penny of your pay went on "non essential" goods then yes that would be a fair comparison, but since you dont spend your entire paycheck on chocolate biscuits put your mis informed rant back in your pocket please :)

Could you tell me how I get on the scheme of not having to pay rent and getting he state to pay it?
You need a Croydon facelift, to punctuate every sentence you utter with the word 'innit' and crap out many illigitimate children with as many different intellectually challenged males as you possibly can. Bonuses are available for ASBOs.

If you can't afford rent or mortgage, the council will lend you a house for as long as you need it.

They call these things 'council houses'.

FFS, there is no point in trying to turn your one-man crusade against VAT rises into a sensible debate, I concede defeat as I cannot match your level of idiocy.

Don't bother arguing with him, he'll start talking about pocket money and pensioners who don't eat.

They did for my wife's cousin, and they currently cover 100% of his entire rent until further notice.

Your experience of these matters is extensive is it? No, clearly not.

They would let someone join the housing list but many people are on that for many years. There is no guarantee of ever getting a social housing place because they are scarce and in great demand.

Excellent - so all the homeless people can all walk into their nearest council office and be given a house for as long as they need one?

Indeed they can. It is ILLEGAL for the council not to provide shelter within 24 hours for anyone whatsoever requesting it.

It may be 'sheltered accommodation' rather than a house specifically, but indeed yes they can.

Yes, you get directed to a homeless shelter. Not quite the 'council house' you spoke of :/

This is a good budget. I'm anti-Tory but even people like me can see that the measures are needed and I'm glad the coalition is doing all it can unlike the Labour scum.

BS. Plain and simple. Again.

I had a situation where I had to approach the council for housing, and I got told to look for private housing as the waiting list was three + years.

Ahhh, now not wanting to be pedantic but you said a house, not sheltered accomodation. Now, I know how important it is for you to be specific on your terms.

lets be honest, the ones who will be bitching the most will be those out of work/spongeing

honest hard working people seem to be accepting of the increases and changes as they see it for the benefit of the Country and hopefully their future employment/well being

every git I know milking the state has sky, big screen tv, smokes, wears nike airmax and so forth... they should not be able to on benefits!!!! I have all these because I work for it and if I want something extra I save/do overtime

too many in this country think the world owes them a favour!
