I want my street cabled now! :(

Virgin here too, chuffed as a nut when we moved to the area as I could finally free myself from the shackles of slow speeds...

Now ive only got a 10mb line atm, not really fussed as going faster just yet:

If I had faster interwebs I could beat the high score!

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, Irish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Irish, in the weeks that followed, an English arch......aeologist dug to a depth of 20 fee...t, and shortly after, a story published read:

"English archaeologists, finding traces of 130-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech telecommunications network 30 years earlier than the Irish".

One week later, the Echo reported the following:

"After digging as deep as 30 feet in his pasture near his house in the Rhondda, Dai Williams, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely ****** all. Dai has therefore concluded that 130 years ago, Wales had already gone wireless.

For any of you who live on a street were cable from virgin ends just up your road email them at the cablemystreet email address and they will look into extending it to your premises.

It would most likely be done as your on the same street. Different road is a different story all together though.

Would also like to know what that is Khaaan!.

Just worked out the cost of the village that paid to get broadband installed and it cost them £195 each.
I would have paid it.

Problem with my street is that 3/4 of them are all old OAPs who probably don't even know how to turn their TV on!

It is Networx (freeware) - very useful too as it monitors LAN users too that the client is installed on.

O2 Broadband ain't unlimited any longer:

Because of this, and the fact that we want to be open and honest, we are changing our package and setting a fair usage policy at 40GB. This is over 10 times an average customer’s usage and for 90% of all Access customers it will mean no change to how they use the service. It will, however, mean a better experience for all as very high users will be reducing their usage. For customers who go over the 40GB limit, we will contact them and discuss ways to moderate their use.

Thank you very much, I'm the other 10%. Looking for another ISP now.

@ Mr Kurgga, that is for their Access package, not their LLU service in case you are worried.

Had an email back from Virgin, they said that their local New Build Officer will examine the area, but it may take 7 to 8 weeks.

I got the same one Azza, fingers crossed they will as it's only about 40m away from my flat and they'd only have to extend it up our little bit of road that terminates at my block of flats.
