Exactly. It's not as if the CK3000 "looks" aftermarket. There is no visible parrot anything, you don't need the control box at all.
I couldn't justify an extra £200-250 just to have it "OEM".
It's not 'very expensive' though especially for OEM bluetooth and as you mentioned it does quite a bit more. You can even read SMS messages on the nav screen.
Luckily for me I see texting as a backwards, restrictive and outmoded form of communication. I'll use the phone for what it was inteded... phoning.
